POSTS STORIES REELS

No big deal (very big deal) but our very own @leilanilynch_, MCA Denver Curator, was asked by @time Magazine to share a work of art that reflects where American culture is headed, speaks to the present in a meaningful way, or otherwise evokes this moment in time.

Leilani selected a work we currently have on view, “Or, the Whale Vol. 1–3” by exhibiting artist @bethanyjoycollins.

Last week I wrapped the @art_curators Propel Fellowship with a week in New York filled with art, food, friends, new friends and countless conversations. It’s always energizing to be out in the world to see and be around art, but I’m am profoundly heartened and strengthened by this amazing community of fellow curators, artists and museum workers. Think together! Think generationally! Support each other! 💜

On view February 21 – May 4, 2025 at the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, “Suki Seokyeong Kang: Mountain—Hour—Face” presents Kang’s largest exhibition in the United States to date.

Kang’s practice is deeply connected with the natural world and our historical relationship to the landscape. Colorado’s abundance of rich natural resources, including our majestic mountains, essential water sources and expansive plains, present a fitting setting for Kang’s exhibition.

The exhibition opening party is Friday, February 28. Get tickets through the link in bio!

Announcing our spring exhibition 🎉“Suki Seokyeong Kang: Mountain—Hour—Face” presents Kang’s largest exhibition in the United States to date. The exhibition is co-curated by Ellen Bruss Senior Curator, Miranda Lash, and Associate Curator, Leilani Lynch, and features a wide array of over 70 artworks the artist has developed over the past several years.

Showcasing Kang’s deft use of materials—from traditionally woven grass mats, dyed wool, and mulberry paper, to industrial materials like steel and brass—to create wondrous and spiritual objects and installations, the exhibition brings the artist’s vision of the landscape into three dimensions. Sculptures, wall-based works, textiles, installations, and video will occupy the entirety of MCA Denver’s building and highlight her singular approach to engaging with these materials.

Today we’re so excited to announce that Leilani Lynch @leilanilynch_ has been named MCA Denver’s Associate Curator!

“I have always been interested in curatorial projects that highlight the most innovative artists in the field, while telling stories that are relevant to the surrounding community. I look forward to continuing this with the team at MCA Denver. I’m also thrilled to incorporate my passion for creating platforms for the local artist community to my role at the museum,” said Lynch.

Lynch has most recently served as Curator at The Bass, Miami Beach. There, she organized recent solo exhibitions with Jamilah Sabur, Cara Despain, Naama Tsabar, Mika Rottenberg, Karen Rifas, and Aaron Curry, in addition to co-organizing exhibitions with Adrián Villar Rojas, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Haegue Yang, Pascale Marthine Tayou, and Paola Pivi. Her curatorial practice champions experimentation and critical engagement with the most urgent ideas circulating today. Working collaboratively with artists, her exhibitions and programs analyze the human experience and are inclusive of diverse and wide-ranging audiences.
