Grab the Monet and let's Gogh ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Water Lilies (1908) frames ๐ŸŽž๏ธ ๐Ÿซธ๐Ÿปโœจ I learned that this style of painting is called "capriccio". They combine real and imaginary elements into a single composition with several monuments from different parts of the city that aren't normally situated together. Panini was the leading Roman painter of this style which he painted as souvenirs for wealthy tourists traveling through Rome. You can spot the Pantheon, the Arch of Constantine, the Coliseum, and more all in one painted giant postcard ๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ A Capriccio of Roman Ruins with the Arch of Constantine, Giovanni Paolo Panini (around 1755) Still Life (Vanitas), Hendrick Andriessen (1637) I jjust really want to learn how to paint drapery ๐Ÿ˜ฉ Sheaves of Wheat, Vincent Van Gogh (1890) Poplars, Pink Effect, Claude Monet (1891) I learned that Monet (and I'm sure many other artists too) doesn't mix in or add black for shadows and instead uses a different colour. I was kind of mind blown by this fact but it makes so much sense now! Still Life, Tea Service, Claude Monet (1872) I really like the thick, bold white highlights in the center of the china and the reflection on the tray Peasant Woman Carrying Two Bundles of Hay, Camille Pissarro (1883) Without realizing it, I've been looking at Pissarro's paintings for the first time this year and now got to see a few of them in person. These shades of blue ๐Ÿ’™ Just practicing! Used watercolor pencils for the first time but mostly I just love playing with colours. I used Water Lilies as my reference This, a good playlist and no one rushing me The Water Lily Pond (Clouds), Claude Monet (1908) Anyone can cook The Path in the Garden, Gustave Caillebotte (1886) by @lemotjuste_

I was able to get one of the inks checked off my list but already I'm regretting leaving behind the others โ˜€๏ธ @taylorryandesign had the most gorgeous fantasy designs and I definitely walked away with so many goodies perfect for my journal and sharing with my friends ๐Ÿ’œ I circled back to @lepetitelefant about a dozen times to just admire how muchhh product she had at her table. I had heard so much about this ink stirrer from @isanaglass and had to pick up a Rameoni bear for myself and all my glitter inks ๐Ÿป The Ink Lounge was overwhelming at first, but I had the most fun there trying and testing soo many different inks! What they say about a New York Minute is true โœจ ___ So much has happened in the span of only a few days! This is just a little snippet of it all. I can't wait to journal all about it but I definitely need to catch up some rest! ๐Ÿ“œ Highlights โœ๏ธ Getting to attend my very first @stationery.fest and meeting soo many incredible people and artists and business owners from around the world. I was even able to make the trip to @yoseka.stationery and it felt so surreal going to the shop in person as a long time YouTube subscriber and online customer ๐ŸŽญ Watching @twostrangersmusical which was thee perfect musical to watch because its premise revolves around visiting NYC (might be my latest musical obsession) ๐Ÿ Getting to watch Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy in Cursed Child and witnessing the script change to include "Scared, Potter??" AND getting to meet him in person at stage door ๐ŸŒผ Visiting the Petal pop-up on release weekend and listening to the new album all day ๐Ÿ’œ Enjoying nearly ALL the BTS in the City events and activations including their merch pop up and @artemuseum_newyork exhibition Truly, what a time to be a fan girl in the city!
