“THE LAGOS STATE CLIMATE YOUTH CAMPAIGN WORKSHOP”

Maryam Apaokagi (Taaooma) Was Unveiled as the Ambassador for the Lagos State Climate Youth Campaign.

We, the youth, should take our future into our hands by creating awareness about Climate Change and understanding that it’s our responsibility to create a safer planet now and for future generations.
Billions of dollars in property have been lost due to flooding, which is often a result of waste being illegally disposed of.
It is our time to take charge; we must take action to demonstrate that we are capable of leading.

Two members of our volunteer community attended the @tedxlagosng event yesterday. 🥳

Building capacity and democratising the opportunity to do so are essential to us.

Thank you @oluwaseyi_ale for helping facilitate this.

First cleanup experience, endless inspiration!🌱🙌

From 10th to 13th of September 2025, I had the privilege of volunteering for #WaveWiseCleanupWeek, organized by ClimeWithMe and CleanAir360, at Itowolo Primary School, Ikorodu, and it was such a sweet and fulfilling experience. 🌍💚

This was my very first cleanup volunteer program, and truly, it was worth every bit of my time and energy. I left inspired, seeing so many passionate youths come together to protect and care for our environment.

Let’s all do better: dispose of waste responsibly, avoid illegal dumping (no matter how small you think it is), and remember that every little effort counts. After all, a little drop of water makes an ocean. 🌊✨

Here’s to cleaner spaces and a healthier planet! 🌱
