Women are building wealth through homeownership, but are they paying more to do it? 🏠

In this clip, Leah Bunning, CDLP® shares a striking reality: single women own more homes than single men, yet women can still face disparities in interest rates, closing costs, and appraisals.

That’s why Leah is so passionate about education and advocacy—helping women understand the mortgage process, ask the right questions, and put themselves in the strongest financial position possible. Knowledge at the closing table matters.

Have you paid off collection accounts and then been devastated to find out it did NOTHING to help your score?!

Ya, there’s a reason for that. The type of credit scoring model mortgage companies use, there’s no difference between a paid and an unpaid collection.

Make sure to consult with your mortgage broker BEFORE paying anything off.

When it comes to getting a mortgage there is NO difference in your score between a paid and an unpaid non-medical collection account.

This is why I advise my clients to get a pay for deletion before paying off any collection accounts. Not every creditor will do pay for deletions so it’s important to ask.

And did you know, making a payment on a collection account may restart the statute of limitations for lawsuits in some states 😭

Do you think credit guidelines need to change when it comes to collection accounts? Let me know in the comments 👇🏻

You can live in a beautiful home and still have no financial freedom.

As a mortgage broker, I encounter financial abuse more often than people realize.

Sometimes it sounds like:
“I’m not allowed to see our accounts.”
“My spouse won’t give me our tax returns.”
“I have no idea where our money goes.”

When financial information is deliberately withheld to keep someone dependent or powerless, the issue goes much deeper than paperwork.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Financial abuse deserves to be part of that conversation. 💜

You deserve access, understanding, and a voice in your financial life.

Should you put 20% down or PMI?

My recommendation is 5% down and you do a loan recast! Watch the video for the math breakdown.

Please note, not all types of loans qualify for recasts. It’s important to speak with your mortgage broker about this option first before you do it.
