Little story ☕ Stitched this in 1994 as a flower themed gift for my then-boyfriend's mum, who had always been kind and sweet to me. I chose two groups of four squares each, to make into two pillows for her. I'd almost finished the first one only to find that then-boyfriend had found himself a side girlfriend! So I finished it anyway, still intending to give the gift to his mum, then discovered she had known about the side girlfriend all along and was kind and sweet to her as well! So the stitching went into the back of my cupboard and I forgot about it for 30+ years. Found it a few months ago and I love it and I'm planning to start again and stitch the whole thing. Lol. 🖼️ A Prairie Garden, by The Prairie Schooler 🪡 Stitched on 16ct "Rustico" 🧵 Called-for DMC #theprairieschooler #crossstitch #crossstitchersofinstagram by @lesleyscottnz
You may know that Nurdan Kanber, one of the beautiful twins of @twin_peak_primitives passed away recently. I'm taking part in the #libertybaySAL hosted by Pam @pgsoap to honour Nurdan, and give love and support to her sister, Nursun. ✨❤️ Nursun, I'm thinking of you with every stitch ❤️✨ by @lesleyscottnz

The first finish in a very long time! This was a secret stitch that I really needed to get finished as it was overdue for my eldest daughter's birthday ❤️ Seems like every time is a tussle when I upload so please lie on your side to see the second photo 🤦🏻 😅 🩷 "Blessed Is She" by @sweetwingstudio 💚 16-ct antique white Aida by Zweigart 🤎 DMC alternatives #crossstitch #crossstitchersofinstagram #xstitch #xstitchersofinstagram #needlework #sweetwingstudio #zweigart #dmcthreads by @lesleyscottnz
Tiny little progress on Swallows, by @owlforest.embroidery.eng 🐦 I haven't worked on this for a long while and really want to get back to this pretty design. However - I cannot get the fabric right and this is my third start! I'd love to use Owl Forest's fabric and hand-dyed variegated threads but they're not in the budget at present. The camera refuses to pick up the fabric colour in this photo, it's pale yellow. 💙 Design "Swallows" by @owlforest.embroidery.eng 💛 Fabric 14 count pale yellow Aida by Zweigart 💜 DMC Alternatives #crossstitch #crossstitchersofinstagram #needlework #owlforestembroidery #xstitch #xstitchersofinstagram by @lesleyscottnz
I stitched this Welcome back in 1996 (when giant mats and backstitched signatures were a thing) and as there is not enough wall space inside our front door, it hangs on the kitchen wall and welcomes visitors into the lounge, haha. Also apparently I didn't get non-reflective glass - took it down and tried everywhere to photograph it; the floor worked best 😂 🤎 Design by American School of Needlework 🧡 Fabric 14 count Rustico Aida by Zweigart 💚 Called for DMC #crossstitch #crossstitchersofinstagram #needlework #americanschoolofneedlework #xstitch by @lesleyscottnz
Trying to do better at posting! I've started Under A Peaceful Sky, by Maria Brovko @cutepatternsbymaria 💙💛 Our sad printer doesn't do this sweet design justice. Her PDF includes images stitched on different coloured fabrics and I fell in love with the green! I'm using a sage green 14ct Aida that has been in my stash for about 30 years, and the called-for DMC. Panicking that I'm going to run out of this beautiful deep blue!! by @lesleyscottnz
I loved these moody pink clouds that hung around in between showers as the sun was setting a few nights back. by @lesleyscottnz
