Bringing back MAMA WALKS 🦋🍓⭐️ I was thinking of starting a pram friendly walk series and thought, let’s do it together! Here are the locations for the next few months - every two weeks on a different day to see what suits. Send me a DM if you’d like to be added to a group chat where I’ll share meeting times etc. Super low pressure walk. Invite a friend, come with your little ones. Would love to get to know you and your kids. See you there 🍓 by @letsgokids.chch

@addyandlou : I’ve seen their store pop up on social media for so long and finally made it in to visit! Beautiful store full of stunning homeware pieces, florals and kids products. Aaaand a super cute cafe! Love the idea of it having a cafe and store in one. There is a kids basket over in the seating area with toys and even puzzles in their own storage containers. The $3 fluffies are standard and they had a yummy range of cabinet food (that did seem to be at the higher price point 🙈). Incredible drinks menu! I think this cafe is one where parents would just use their discretion in taking their kids as there obviously are soo many breakables. My boys are the more rowdy type (we had to hastily leave as salt shakers were being launched back to throw 😂🙈) but they weren’t tempted to touch as there were great activities. #addyandlou #christchurchmum #chchkids #kidfriendlycafe #letsgokids by @letsgokids.chch

A nature play area east Christchurch! Just down the road from @ripplerealfruit ice cream and across the street from the East X East bike loop (although it’s so run down so not super worth the visit). Love the watering can bottles. Perfect spot for a morning adventure by @letsgokids.chch

Tucked away in Redwood, not far from Redwood Springs is this playground. Lovely spot for nature play, climbing and an OG playground set up. We had a great morning tea here. Got specific car parking and a toilet (which was out of order at the time). There is a walking loop around the park which is dog friendly. Note: when putting this in google maps make sure that you write Murchison park PLAYGROUND otherwise you’ll go to the general park entrance. Have fun visiting! #murchisonpark #chchplayground #christchurchmum #letsgokids #chchkids by @letsgokids.chch

@thebowersmokehouse : a family friendly pub in New Brighton with an awesome outdoor seating space and colouring in for kids. They used to have a great outdoor kids playgrounds but it doesn’t seem to be there anymore?? 10/10 customer service and good fluffies & fries. I’d love to know where your favourite family friendly cafes/restaurants/pubs are! Drop it in the comments or send me a DM. #thebowerpub #familyfriendlypub #newbrighton #letsgokids #christchurchmum by @letsgokids.chch

There’s an awesome pump track in the Darfield domain that we only just visited today! It’s right beside the tennis courts and has lovely grassy area and parking beside it. The track is better for 5+ year olds/my 3 and 4 year old found the slopes a bit intimidating. Darfield is such an epic location for a day trip with Darfield dairy (biggest ever ice creams), @darfieldbakery for the best pies, fairy forest walk, playground and if you time it right you could go to the story times at the library. So worth visiting! #darfield #christchurchmum #pumptrack #kidsbiketrack #chchbikes by @letsgokids.chch

@dainty.chch : a cafe that you’d never guess was so kid friendly! Based in central Christchurch under the @themusechristchurch & @pinklady_rooftop is Dainty - an aesthetic wee cafe with a thoughtful selection of toys & colouring in and the best part is their fluffies that come with a salt shaker of sprinkles?!?!!! Is that not the best thing ever?! And for adults, you can add a cookie onto the lid of your cold drinks for an extra $3.50 - so so fun. Such a peaceful feeling cafe. So worth visiting and just a short walk away from Margaret Mahey playground!! #dainty #daintycafe #chchcafe #kidfriendlycafe #chchkidfriendlycafe by @letsgokids.chch

I did some googling after @beaba_nz reached out offering the Neo Babycook baby food maker and I read that it could be used for more than just baby purées, lasting beyond the baby stage 👀 And so I put it to the test.. and it excelled! This obviously is not a necessity purchase but it is something that makes life much more convenient and quick. I love that it has a stainless steel steaming compartment and a glass bowl meaning no microplastics leaching into food.
Embarrassing to admit but I very rarely steamed veges for meals because of the faff doing it over the stovetop (don’t love the microwave method) but now thanks to the Neo Babycook it’s ridiculously easy.
It steams and blends so smoothly and is very easy to clean. Ticks all the boxes for me!
Thank you so much Beaba for gifting us such a helpful appliance. Very grateful 🥰 ad | gifted #babycookneo #beaba #babyfood #mealprep #babycook by @letsgokids.chch

Looking for a kid friendly pub to visit? The Plough Hotel in Rangiora is a fantastic spot to visit. They have a lovely outdoor area with shaded tables and TWO playgrounds. The inside decor is so quirky and fun. Great classic pub snacks. Rangiora also has some great playgrounds like Torlesse park, elephant park and Townsend Road Reserve. A morning out could look like a visit to the library (Storytimes at Rangiora library on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 10am), trip to the Plough for early lunch and then a visit to Townsend Road Reserve 🤗 #plough #rangiora #townsendreserve #rangioralibrary #christchurchmum by @letsgokids.chch

We went to the Methven Rodeo on Sunday! 🐂 I have heard that it can be a bit controversial for different reasons but it is cool seeing how it is such a family/generational event/tradition. Personally freaked me out a bit with how easily people could get so badly injured especially on the bull riding. We got there early (10am) which was good as the seating is free for all on the slopped grass and it gets totally PACKED! The highlight was the big bouncy castle area that was only $6 per kid for unlimited play. So fun! There was a range of food options from gelato, dumplings and your standard hot chips & hot dogs as well as a couple of stalls. It was $30 an adult with under 5’s free. Tbh probably not something we’d pay to go see again anytime soon but maybe once the kids are a bit older as they have a family pass with 2 adults and 2 kids under 16 for $65. The Methven rodeo is an annual thing. The next rodeo in Canterbury that I can tell is on Jan 9th in Swannanoa! Aaand the @killillynz activity bag came so in handy to entertain the kids when they got restless watching. Tell me, whats your opinion on rodeos?! by @letsgokids.chch

@ripplerealfruit is hidden in the red zone area of New Brighton and they have the best range of real fruit ice cream (even have a special pineapple flavour atm!!). They are run by an awesome group of teenagers (who are cousins) and they’ve just celebrated their first year in business! They have a range of scoop sizes from kids size (which anyone can order) up to large! Check out their instagram page as they post their opening times on their stories (eg. no opening time stories means that they’re closed). They’re a popular spot to get in quick as soon as you see that they’re open! 👀😍 & in such a great spot for an adventure in the red zone! Check out the Te Kōhanga Taiao nature play space around the block. If you want the coordinates to find their cart, comment ‘ripple’. #ripplerealfruit #realfruitucecream #newbrighton #letsgokids #christchurchmum by @letsgokids.chch
