Can we all agree changing bunk beds is one of the worst parenting jobs?

We've added the @conni.australia waterproof mattress protectors and bed pads for an extra layer of protection, because anything that makes life with kids a little easier is a win.

They're washable, practical and the Hero print was such a perfect fit for our little one's bedroom.

It's one less thing to worry about and a little less wrestling with sheets every time it's time to change the bed.

Mr. 6 has been asking for weeks to cut open a pumpkin and see what's inside, so today we finally made it happen 🎃

After digging out all the seeds and goo, he decided we needed to make some potions too.
With bicarb soda, vinegar, food colouring and syringes, he created his very own bubbling pumpkin potions.

Our @rudienudie_designs mat took a bit of a beating with coloured vinegar everywhere, but it did its job perfectly. Not a drop reached the ground underneath and clean-up was surprisingly easy.

This is a simple idea that turned into a whole lot of fun.

4 ways our 6 year old played with our Halloween playdough tray 🎃

From making patterns on the skewers to attempting to stack the eyeballs (which was much harder than it looks), he found plenty to keep him busy.

He also made playdough pizzas using our @jellystone.designs Halloween calm down bottle refills from @thesensorysloth, and finished by spelling out some spooky words with our @bio_dough cutters. One tray, with lots of different ways to play.

Which one would your little one try first?

Last time it was a cheetah, this time we’re trying out our new limited edition Halloween kit from @the.palette.pals

Our little guy wanted to paint my face again, so a clown it was 🤡

Our little one decided to make his own Halloween figurines using up some old Super Clay from @_tigertribe_

Can you guess which Halloween characters he was going for?

A little piece of Victoria came home with us.

Our trip was short and sweet, but we came home with some lovely memories and this gorgeous Melbourne Tram from @makemeiconic to keep the adventures going at home.

A little Halloween fun with a glow in the dark twist 🎃

These @needohofficial Jack Glow Lanterns in orange and green from @thesensorysloth are such a fun addition to our Halloween collection. Squishy, satisfying and even better when the lights go out and they start to glow.

Perfect for a little spooky sensory fun this Halloween.

Building BIG with Flexi Tracks 🚂

We’ve been having so much fun experimenting with these and seeing just how creative we can get. We used our new Flexi Tracks with the Duplo we already own, plus our existing wooden BRIO and Kmart train tracks to create this huge multi level track. I love that Flexi Tracks can be used alongside things we already have at home, giving our old favourites a whole new lease on life.

There’s been lots of building, testing, adjusting and of course, plenty of trains going around. This is such a fun way to encourage creativity, problem solving and open ended play.

Our 6 year old painted my face again! This time he chose a cheetah and followed the step by step instruction card that came with the Animal Kingdom Face Paint Kit from @the.palette.pals

The instructions have pictures for each step and were so easy to follow that he did the whole thing himself. I was pretty impressed with how it turned out. It's such a fun activity to do together, and I love that the kit is easy enough for kids to be able to have a go at themselves.

What do you think he’ll paint next?

Our little one has been sitting with me practising embroidery when I do it. So when our local community was running a kids sewing activity for the school holidays, I booked him in.

They made these super cute little monster teddies and he did so much of his himself. He designed his own monster with one eye and a beard, then cut, sewed and put it all together. He was so proud of his little monster when it was finished.

What are some sewing projects you have done with your little ones? Let me know in the comments! by @letsplay_grover

Our first Halloween play activity of the year and Mr 6 has been very excited to try the glow in the dark squirmy worms from @thesensorysloth.

He put this little spooky play tray together himself, including the skeleton hand salad servers he found at @therejectshop and absolutely insisted we buy. Using the skeleton hands, he has been practising his fine motor skills by collecting the eyeballs and spiders and adding them to jars.

A messy number rescue for a warmer day 🧊🔨

We froze our @thesensorysloth Numberblobs into shaving cream ice cubes, then let the hammer do the work. It got very messy thanks to the melted shaving foam, but luckily our @rudienudie.designs mat made clean up much easier.

This was such a fun way to combine sensory play, number recognition and a bit of regulation with the weather starts warming up.
