🧡 Recap of Wear Orange Baltimore 2026 🧡

Yesterday’s Wear Orange event was a powerful display of unity, healing, remembrance, and community action. Thousands of community members, survivors, advocates, youth, families, and supporters came together to honor lives lost to gun violence and stand united for peace.

The day began with our Peace March, bringing people from all walks of life together to send a clear message that Baltimore deserves safe and thriving communities. Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed inspiring performances from talented local artists who used their voices and platforms to promote hope, healing, and violence prevention.

One of the most meaningful moments of the day was the presentation of memorial banners to families who have lost loved ones to violence. Each banner featured the name and photo of a cherished family member, ensuring their memory continues to live on and reminding us why this work is so important.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our performers, volunteers, community leaders, and partner organizations who helped make this event possible. Your dedication, support, and commitment to ending gun violence helped create a beautiful and impactful experience for everyone in attendance.

A special thank you to our families, survivors, and community members who continue to turn pain into purpose and help us build a safer future for the next generation.

Together, we marched. Together, we remembered. Together, we raised our voices for peace.

Our young people are creating their futures—one opportunity at a time! 💻🎬🙌🏾

@letsthrivebaltimore youth are learning to create movies and apps through a four-week AI training with instructor Ebony at @son.organization ! We’re excited to see their creativity turn into real skills and new possibilities.

This is just ONE of the opportunities our young people receive:
✨ Paid opportunities starting at $15 an hour, with one young leader earning $40 an hour for additional leadership responsibilities and outstanding work!
✨ Service-learning hours
✨ Medical Assistant certification and computer training is offered
✨ Access to Apple laptops after completing computer literacy program
✨ Connections to mental health services and social and emotional support is offered
✨ Public speaking, leadership, and preparation for college and careers

We invest in our young people because we believe in who they are AND who they can become. ❤️

Among youth who have participated consistently in our in-person and virtual training for at least two years, 100% are in college or working full time after completing the program. To our knowledge, none of our participating youth have been found guilty of a crime or harmed anyone.

Last quarter, our Sandtown community recorded ZERO shootings and ZERO homicides. That progress reflects the work of many residents and partners, and we’re committed to contributing by keeping young people engaged, supported, and connected to meaningful opportunities.

When we invest in our youth, we invest in a safer, stronger Baltimore. Help us keep the opportunities growing! 🧡
