🦜 Birds of a Paradise ~ Colorful Aussie Wildlife! 🇦🇺🌿

Imagine an Australia where the skies are filled with even more birdsong, color, and diversity. Where thriving farms are also thriving habitats for wildlife.

It’s a beautiful vision, and… there’s an urgent reason to make it a reality. 🤍

Since 2000, populations of threatened and near-threatened birds in New South Wales and the ACT have declined by an estimated 56.3%. And across NSW, 130 bird species are now listed as threatened.

Even more striking, New South Wales has lost an estimated 71% of its original habitat capacity to support native species since industrialisation.

🕊️ But here’s where the story gets hopeful.

🌱 What has been degraded holds remarkable potential for regeneration. Through regenerative agriculture, we’re working to restore the very foundations of biodiversity ~ healthier soils, diverse plant communities, improved water cycles, and thriving ecosystems that provide food, shelter, and habitat for wildlife.

The research done on the “Roots So Deep” (@carboncowboys ) docuseries documented by a team of 25+ scientists including @drallenwilliamsphd reveals how regenerative farms in paired comparisons with conventional neighboring farms can have 3x more grassland birds and 67% more grassland bird species within 5-10 years.

And that’s the beauty of regeneration. We’re not simply growing healthier pastures and producing more nutritious food. We’re creating the conditions for nature to flourish alongside agriculture.

Imagine what we can bring back when we give nature the opportunity to thrive. 🦜🌿 Let’s bring back the birds! by @libertasland
