Conheçam a Vera, a nossa Diretora Pedagógica. Conheçam o Liceu Azul em liceuazul.pt 💙 Meet Vera, our Pedagogical Director. For Vera, the ocean is more than a source of inspiration. This is our school. A place to learn, explore, create, ask questions, get curious and learn together. At Liceu Azul, we believe education is about more than what happens inside a classroom. It’s about learning through real experiences, spending time outdoors and growing in a community where every student is seen and valued. A school where different languages, backgrounds and perspectives come together. Where learning is connected to the world around us, and where curiosity is encouraged every day. Liceu Azul opens its doors in September, between Aljezur and Rogil, for students and families looking for a different approach to education in Portugal. We are very excited to meet you! Many languages. One learning community. At Liceu Azul, we believe the language a child brings with them is not a barrier, but a strength. That's why we embrace translanguaging: an approach where students are encouraged to draw on all the languages they know to think, understand, and learn. Research shows this supports deeper understanding, builds confidence, and helps children reach their full potential. Portuguese remains our shared classroom language. At the same time, we value every student's home language as a resource that enriches learning for everyone. Because meaningful learning begins when every child feels they can be themselves. Explore Liceu Azul at liceuazul.pt 💙 Muitas línguas. 🌿 As inscrições continuam abertas em www.liceuazul.pt 💙 What if school could help create a better world? At Liceu Azul, learning doesn't simply happen within four walls. It happens in the classroom, in nature, through meaningful projects, and within both the school and the wider community. Every environment offers unique opportunities to learn. Some lessons are best explored through discussion and reflection. Others come alive through real experiences, collaboration, and connecting with the world around us. We believe education should help young people understand the world by becoming part of it. That's why Outdoor Education, Project-Based Learning, and strong community connections are at the heart of our approach. Because preparing students for the future doesn't start someday. It starts today, with every lesson, every conversation, and every project. 🌐 A school with its doors open to the outside world. 🌿 Enrolment is still open via www.liceuazul.pt by @liceuazul

Roots grow quietly. Beneath the surface, unseen at first. Reaching into the earth. Finding stability, nourishment, belonging. Education is much the same. At Liceu Azul, learning is not disconnected from the world around us. It is rooted in nature, in relationships, in meaningful projects, connected with the community we are part of. Children learn best from the landscape, from each other, from the questions they ask and the experiences they share. This September, Liceu Azul opens between Aljezur and Rogil. A school where learning grows alongside and rooted in real life. Where children are encouraged to develop strong roots, so they can grow with confidence, curiosity and purpose. This video was made by local teenagers. 💙 As raízes crescem silenciosamente. Sob a superfície, invisíveis à primeira vista.
Children learn far beyond textbooks. They learn in environments where curiosity is encouraged, confidence grows naturally, and learning is connected to real life. Freedom in learning Barefoot through the grass. Hiding between trees and plants. Laughter of children echoing through the forest. To many, this looks like playing. To us, this is also learning. Because freedom creates space for curiosity. Movement creates space for thought. And play is often where confidence, connection and creativity, and begins. At Liceu Azul, we believe education should happens also outside the classroom. Moments of focus and moments of wandering. In times that we question, reflect and imagine. Gently, this dream is becoming real. Liceu Azul opens this September between Aljezur and Rogil. A school shaped by nature, projects, languages, community, and the belief that children develop best when they are trusted to fully be themselves, and grow in freedom. This video was made by local teenagers.
