POSTS STORIES REELS

I wanted to post about the DKMS gala but I had to leave for India and couldn’t get it together to create a post. I was able to repost @liztaylorworld and express my gratitude for my client DKMS and the incredible work they do to fight blood cancers and blood diseases. I also wanted to give a massive thank you for my HKMG team.

Thank you @lucienz for hosting the afterparty. Zac, you are the best 💗

Thanks to this crew for their friendship and and support @kschijman @mattcast1 @darrellmark @mussoinc @raegan_lange @jessefrohman @fabrizio.brienza ♥️

Work and life. #jaipur by @lidoworld

Jodhpur moments and a very hardworking team.

We are open today from 10am -5pm. by @lidoworld

Behind every piece of LIDO vintage furniture is a skilled craftsman.

Every item is restored, repaired and cleaned by hand, preserving the intricate carvings. This is done using techniques passed down through generations-old woodworking traditions.

We select every piece carefully and in person.

This is going to be our best container yet. 🌹

Jodhpur by night. All angles and lighting.

It’s been ages since I’ve been here alone. The first furniture container I ever filled was on a whim about 13 years ago and Grant and I have done it together ever since.

We recently realized we have barely anything left in storage so on another whim I flew from Jaipur to fill another container, while Grant harvests olives on our property in Puglia for the first time and apparently doing pretty well!

Coming here for only a few days forces me to be a better editor. So much of what we do requires repair, refinishing , minor construction and vision. It’s harder alone because no matter how many pieces I love, there are so many I’m not sure about. Anyway, it was a great first day and so far super excited about everything.

October 30th is our last Friday, then we are back to weekends only:

Saturdays 10am - 6pm
Sundays 10:am - 5pm

Lots of new, lots of sale. 🍃🍁🍂 by @lidoworld

OPEN TODAY - SUNDAY 🐒

We love these pots so much that we’ve been stocking them for years. We don’t have many left, but I decided to fly to Jodhpur in a few days and fill a 40’ container with vintage one-of-one-kind pieces of furniture and objects. We have virtually no furniture left, except for a few spectacular pieces coming out of storage.

The new selected pieces are in various stages of repair, refinishing and in come cases, creating something new from vintage materials. All will be finished in various tones of our chalky natural white wash.

Here in Jaipur, our tailoring and fabric sampling is almost completed. Next we will start fabric production.

Production is running concurrently in villages and in factories depending on what we are making. All slow, old-world craft production and handwork.

Hoping for the container to set sell late January when everything is completed. 🤞

In the meantime we are open and looking to make room for the new!!

The 20th annual DKMS gala at Cipriani Wall Street succeeded in raising millions with HK Media Group behind the scenes making the magic happen. The evening included a performances by Nile Rodgers & CHIC, Tiler Peck and Joseph Gordon, and a live auction led by Hilaria Baldwin and Scott Adsit. Dallas Wilson also sang an emotional rendition of “Heart Like a Truck” that he had written for the legendary Lainey Wislon. Wilson’s gala performance of the song was dedicated to patient Ezra Glass who was matched to him after a single life-saving swab. Notable attendees included Susan Lucci, Fabrizio Brienza, and Coco Rocha. #nilerodgers #tilerpeck #hilariabaldwin #dkms #sensiblesocialite @dkms_us @heidiknyc @katharinaharf @michellepdkms @nilerodgers @tilerpeck @talentescorts @ingridlcn @ryanbarckley @gigibell221 @fabrizio.brienza @hilariabaldwin @cipriani 📸 Getty @bbedder by @lidoworld

Some people in Jaipur are very afraid of the monkeys. They come out in the late afternoon and can be really menacing.

But earlier today I arrived at one of my manufacturers and this young monkey (who was alone) jumped on the security guard’s lap and wouldn’t leave. It seemed very cute and sweet at the time, and he was very clingy. I didn’t realize until much later he might have been abandoned. Normally they don’t stray far from the mother and if they do, she is watching.

So now I’m thinking about him. If someone is a monkey expert please tell me I’m wrong so I don’t have to find him, bring him back to NYC and raise him as my own. by @lidoworld

Last year at the grand deballage, we tried to strategize which direction to go first. If you’ve been to a grand Dellabage, you know it can be packed 50 rows deep with people waiting for the gates to open.

The dealers cannot open their trucks and vans and start putting their goods out until the moment the gates open. It’s completely opposite to walking into any other fair or show where all vendor goods are already setup before doors open.

In this particular case we decided to go in the opposite direction, through halls all the way back without stopping to look at anything else with the strategy of working our way back.

We were the first people to see this 18th century console table made from thick solid timber. It had a rich patina from centuries of use, and was found in a horse barn discovered in an old French chateau. It embodies the soul of 17th century French country living.

The couple who sold it to us are well known reputable dealers in L’Isle-sur-La-Sorgue. All day, people asked if they could buy the table, in some cases, offering more money.

We were the first to sticker it so it was ours. When we went back people tried to buy it from us.

We loved it and decided not to sell it.

But then this week I decided when I am back in India next week I would hop a flight to source more one of a kind pieces of furniture, and in February we will be back in France for more antique sourcing.

So for that reason, I decided to sell it to someone who had been asking our team if she could purchase it. They had said it wasn’t for sale, but she checked back from time to time, and Jen was smart enough to take her details.

She is picking it up today and it will ship to CA. I’m so glad it’s going to someone who loves it as much as we do.

In India, furniture is a combo of sourcing as is, changing finishes, or creating unique piece from vintage carved panels.
