When gambling seems to be everywhere, it can be difficult to step away, particularly when it feels like everyone around you is taking part. For some people, gambling can become a source of stress, financial pressure and anxiety, affecting their mental health and relationships with the people around them.

If gambling is having an impact on your life, or you're worried about someone close to you, it's important to remember that support is available. You don't have to wait until things reach a crisis point to talk to someone, and there's no shame in asking for help.

If you need someone to talk to, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14 or via text on 0477 13 11 14. by @lifeline_act

Not everything you enjoy needs to become a side hustle or something productive. In a world that often encourages us to make the most of every spare moment, having a hobby simply because it makes you happy can be a really valuable part of looking after your mental health. You don't have to be particularly good at it, share it with anyone or achieve anything at all, sometimes enjoying yourself is reason enough.

If things are feeling overwhelming and you need someone to talk to, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14 or via text on 0477 13 11 14. by @lifeline_act

What an incredible result! This year’s Winter Solstice Nude Charity Swim raised an amazing $92,000 for Lifeline Canberra, thanks to the generosity and dedication of everyone who took part and supported the event.

As we celebrate 10 years of the Nude Swim, we’ve crunched the numbers and discovered that this one fundraising event has raised enough money over the past decade to train volunteers to answer nearly 18,000 calls from people reaching out for support.

A huge thank you to the organisers, participants and supporters who have made this event such an extraordinary part of our community and helped us continue being there for those who need us. by @lifeline_act

Between rising living costs, work pressures and the demands of everyday life, stress can build up without us even noticing.

Sometimes it's the little things that tell us we're struggling, like losing sleep, feeling more irritable than usual or finding things we normally enjoy harder to manage.

If things are feeling tough, Lifeline is here to listen, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on 13 11 14 or via text on 0477 13 11 14. by @lifeline_act

Whether it's reaching out for support, making time for yourself or taking a small step towards something better, you don't have to wait until January to start.

There's still time to head into 2027 on a different path, and you don't have to find your way there alone. If you need support, Lifeline is available 24/7 on 13 11 14 and via text on 0477 13 11 14. by @lifeline_act
