To my HBCU, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania, thank you for becoming the place where I met myself. You shaped me, stretched me, and strengthened me in ways I never imagined. I can’t thank the Lord enough for what He has done in this chapter of my life. I experienced loss that broke me open, outgrew relationships I once thought would last, and had moments where I almost lost myself. But God held me, and in every removal He restored me with something greater and aligned with purpose. I arrived at Cheyney quiet, shy, and eager to please, still searching for my worth. I come from a mother whose love shaped everything in me. I watched her pour into others with a full heart, even in lack, teaching me that God provides and that love is lived, not just spoken. Cheyney became where everything she taught me came alive. I found my voice, conviction, and purpose. My purpose became clear: to represent little brown girls who don’t yet know they can do it, and to show them what I once needed to see. I am no longer the little girl who second guesses every thought. I am now a woman who walks in certainty, faith, and purpose. The Lord healed parts of my inner child here through therapy, growth, and grace, becoming who I once only prayed to be. It was a privilege to be surrounded by Black excellence in every form—from professors to staff, students, visitors, and peers whose stories pushed me forward. Through it all, I fell in love with psychology, healing, and the human experience. God confirmed my calling to pursue my doctorate in Psychology. Lord, I am nothing without You. Thank You for my mother, my foundation, my village, every closed door, every redirection, and every breaking that rebuilt me stronger. It has been the highest honor to serve this campus and grow into the woman I am becoming. ✅Bachelor of Arts in Psychology ✅Keystone Honors Scholar ✅Student Trustee, Board of Trustees, Cheyney University of Pennsylvania ✅President, Delta Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. MINE by @lil.dimple
Dear Junior Year, You were nothing like I expected. I came into you with hesitation, uncertain of what would unfold. Change has always been a scary thing, but you—gracefully, powerfully—taught me fearlessness. You showed me that growth and discomfort walk hand in hand, and that becoming requires shedding. In your time, I learned to care for myself not only outwardly, but inwardly. You taught me the power of sisterhood—of having women beside me who pour into me, believe in me, and reflect back the light I sometimes forget I carry. you grounded me in the truth that I am nothing without my Father, Jesus Christ. Every ounce of strength, every bit of clarity and peace flows from Him. You entrusted me with the gift and weight of leadership. To live with integrity when no one is watching. You reminded me that true leadership isn’t about titles or control—it’s about service, stewardship, and the willingness to rise even when it’s uncomfortable. You called me to stand fully in who I am—not shrinking, not apologizing, but embracing the fullness of who God made me to be. And in becoming a mirror for others, I discovered new reflections of myself. You showed me the consequences of procrastination, how delay can chip away at destiny. But even in my missteps, you gave me lessons and space to grow. You expanded me beyond what I thought I was capable of. You allowed some chapters to close and in their place, you gave me friendships that feel like light. You revealed I still clung to control and reminded me, gently and firmly, that God’s plan is better than mine. You taught me to surrender—not in weakness, but in deep trust. To let go and let God order every step. You were full of lessons disguised as ordinary days. I’m walking away from you stronger, wiser & braver With love ME đŸ‘đŸŸ by @lil.dimple
