Owl Griffin - what started as a tree bark study became a fantasy creature’s home. A fun escape into details. #owlgriffin #fantasycreature #penandpencildrawing #treebark #illustration by @lil_el_art

The historic Telegraph Station in Beechworth, Victoria. Rendering the minute details is a form of meditation for me. My eyes are tired but I feel calm, which has been a goal for my two weeks of rest and recuperation. #historicbuildings #inkpen #architecturaldrawing #beechworth #artistofinstagram❤️ by @lil_el_art

Koba, Caesar’s nemesis in the second Planet of the Apes is one of my favourite antagonists. His body, mind and soul were tortured by scientists, leaving a deeply wounded character whose disfigured visage and barely contained rage are the results of ‘Human Work’. #apesmovies #planetoftheapes #koba #pencildrawing #artistofinstagram❤️ by @lil_el_art

All Hail Caesar! Played by the extraordinarily talented @andyserkis with immense gravitas, Caesar is one of my all time favourite characters. @bambi.eve and I had the honour of meeting Andy at Supanova Melbourne yesterday. I had planned to bring this sketch and have him sign it - but our budget could not could not cover both photo and autograph. However, I am pleased with the likeness and intensity of this little graphite sketch - and I plan to do a larger, colour version in the future #caesar #planetoftheapes #andyserkis #graphitepencil #artistofinstagram❤️ by @lil_el_art

Wild, wind-ravaged Sorrento Back Beach - captured in inkpen and coloured pencil from inside the cafe overlooking the sea. Making the most of the inclement weather on the Mornington Peninsula #sorrentobackbeach #beachstudy #inkpenandpencil #rockstudy #artistofinstagram❤️ by @lil_el_art

Varang Pencil Study - in preparation for a pastel piece. I find her intense, psychotic, flawed character utterly enthralling. She moves like a serpent and is devastatingly stunning. #avatarfireandash #varang #pencilportraitdrawing #avatarfanart by @lil_el_art

Juvenile Xenomorph, from Alien Earth. Equally cute and terrifying! #alienearth #babyxenomorph #juvenilexenomorph #xenomorph #xenomorphart #alien #alienearthtribute #alienearthfanart #graphitesketch #detailedgraphite #artistofinstagram❤️ by @lil_el_art

‘T-Ocellus’ The true star of Alien Earth… I will never be able to look at a sheep in same way again! #tocellus #alienearth #alieneartheye #alieneyeballmonster #alienearthfanart #charcoalsketch #aliensketch #artistoninstagram by @lil_el_art

VLOR (2#) Two weeks ago I was transported to Transylvania (aka The Red Room) where we were honoured by the stillness of Vlor and his haunting visage. Fortunately he had pledged not to feast on the artists…! These are my imptessions from the day and a couple of free hours on the following weekend 🖤🧛🏻#lifedrawing #vampiress #vampirethemedlifedrawing #inksketches #vlore #transilvania by @lil_el_art

I’m currently escaping back into The Expanse, and absolutely love Camina Drummer… her intensity, drive, integrity and passion are inspiring. Not to mention the striking sci-fi goth-aesthetic!! Whilst I haven’t quite nailed her likeness, I’m happy with the attitude. Sesata beltalowda, sasa ke? #theexpanse #caminadrummer #belta #beltalowda #graphite #expansetributeart #caragee by @lil_el_art
