π–π–Ίπ—π—Žπ—‹π–Ίπ—… π–£π—‚π—Œπ–Ίπ—Œπ—π–Ύπ—‹ Greetings earthlings, it’s been a minute! Amongst an abundance of transitions and projects, I’ve been slow cooking a Lupa album. The process continues, but this summer vibe calls for a little taste of Lupa love for the people. Go ahead and get you a new banger on Bandcamp Friday and support independent artists! Bigup my band fam @megbrittcole @ganessajames + #chrissthilaire for persistently reminding me that this song needs to reach the world. We have arrived at an unprecedented state of reality, but still the story is the same as it ever was, and we are all connected as one earthly body moving through this wild experience. As we face the challenges of our time, take a moment. Everyday. To listen to the earth. To re-member. π˜ˆπ˜“π˜“ π˜Œπ˜”π˜—π˜π˜™π˜Œπ˜š π˜π˜ˆπ˜“π˜“ ❀️‍πŸ”₯ #musikasalupa #synthesizershawty #naturaldisaster #allempiresfall by @lilelenna
Today is my 20th anniversary of living in Brooklyn bb! Still tryna make it bb! Feeling more grounded here than ever before, and am forever in love with this city of dreamers. I’ll never know exactly how many of those days over two decades were spent on tour, but I do know the universe listened to me saying β€œI’m a recovering road dog trying to transform into a studio cat” almost every day for the past two years. I’m happy to share that the transformation is now complete. Say hello to the new Studio Manager at @figure8recording πŸͺ„πŸˆβœ¨ Many thanks to everyone at Figure 8 for the knowledge & trust! It’s an honor to take the wheel serving NYC’s independent music community at one of Brooklyn’s most beloved recording spaces. Enjoy the Old E throwback circa 2012 (bonus points if you remember what room this is, because I don’t πŸ˜‚), lookout for more exciting revelations from my journey, and holler at manager@figure8recording.com if you want to book time in the studio! #figure8recording #synthesizershawty #thewildunknownarchetypes #weliveinbrooklynbaby by @lilelenna

I got to play with underwater hydrophone samples and synthesizers, collaborate with @sheltone (aka my OG partner in riddim) on the dub + mix, travel to Malta to experience the unveiling of this historic and massive body of work, and to celebrate one of the most inspirational humans on the planet. Last weekend I gathered with FilAm community for Undas (DΓa de Los Muertos in the Philippines). Since Undas last year, I’ve been to five funerals for family elders. Here is four seasons of me getting in the car to go honor those who have journeyed onwards. Each time, I held space for the truth that as we gather with loved ones to hold rituals for those who have aged and ascended, simultaneously we are witnessing hundreds of thousands of souls violently taken from this life too soon who do not get to receive this basic human right. Gathering to tell stories and truths, sing songs, break bread together, and hold each other in grief is the essence of what dominant culture wants to strip from our being. In these times we are being called to gather and grieve the people, selves, lands, places, times, feelings, concepts, and worlds that are dying, so that we may be fully present in honoring our lives and resisting the forces that aim to divide and erase us as we prepare ourselves to become future ancestors. Sending love and patience to everyone everywhere hanging on to their humanity. I am so very grateful to be alive with all of you. ❀️‍πŸ”₯ by @lilelenna
Vol. 3: Ancestros Futuros on @daptonerecords is out in the world today! 🌹 Thank you @cochemea for this beautiful offering! I’m grateful to work with kindred spirits who are committed to re-membering music as a sacred portal into other worlds, and shifting the vision of how it is brought into this world. The creation of this album was a real-time collaboration, with arrangements and parts built in the moment, and full ensemble takes to tape. It was an honor to witness the illustrious Bosco Mann in action, to finally play alongside @victoraxelrod aka Ticklah aka my big brother on keys (+ mentor since day one of my musical career πŸ™πŸ½), and to deepen new and old friendships through the making of this album. Come celebrate the release with us at @nationalsawdust on October 11th! Vamos a vacilar! ✨πŸͺ˜βœ¨ #cochemea #ancestrosfuturos #otrosmundos #daptonerecords by @lilelenna
