🖤 ARC REVIEW 🖤 Thank you @mtmctours and the author for an advance copy of this book! Black Ledger - Hazel St. Lewis 📓 Book 1, Volume 1 in the Furyverse Out NOW! SHE'S A SERIAL KILLER. HE'S A RUTHLESS MAFIA BOSS. THEY'RE HUNTING EACH OTHER. #bookreview #darkromance #mafia #romance #serialkiller by @lilp.reads
What I'm Currently Reading 📚 📖 The Knave and The Moon - Rachel Gillig Been really nervous to start this because I love The Knight and The Moth so so much, and my fear of it being over was incredibly daunting BUT we've had news of the spin off with Bartholomew so that has helped push me! Been phenomenal so far, and god Rory... what a man 😮‍💨 📱 Black Ledger - Hazel St. Lewis I've been craving a good dark mafia romance and @mtmctours hooked a sister up with this tasty ARC. I'm flying through this, and really interested to see what happens next 👀 🎧 Anathema - Keri Lake I have FINALLY started listening to this, after buying the audio book last year and being on my TBR for the longest time. For some reason, it always takes me forever to commit to an audio book where I can pick up and read several books at a time... anyone else like this? So far, really love the narrators and super interesting premise 🖤 QOTD: Has you done immersive reading before? I like the idea but I feel that my reading speed would overtake the narration and feel out of sync. Any recommendations?? #bookstagram #dark #romance #fantasy #romantasy by @lilp.reads
Happy US release day to Scorpion Deep by C.G. Drews!! 🪸🖤 Thank you so much to @readtempest @netgalley and @paperfury for an advance copy - I am in awe of your mind and this has become my favourite read of 2026 and possibly my new favourite book of all time. -- CG Drews, New York Times-bestselling author of Don't Let the Forest In and Hazelthorn, weaves a disturbing and intoxicating siren-call in Scorpion Deep, about a lonely boy who accidentally awakens an obsessive eldritch sea god. The only thing Jonathan Covey wants from the gloomy, moldering isle of Kelcarrow is to leave it. Summer is ending, and his friends are looking forward to college on the mainland, unaware that Jonathan was not accepted to join them. He'll be left behind with nothing but the ocean's haunts and a rising dread of being abandoned. In an act of wild desperation, Jonathan pays a tithe to Scorpion Deep, an eldritch sea god who many of the locals have dismissed as myth. He wants to forget the past, he wants to follow his friends, and most of all he wants to finally escape. To his shock and horror, the ritual works—Scorpion Deep awakens. And despite his terror, Jonathan can't help but feel drawn toward the ageless entity that seems just as mutually obsessed with him. As scales start growing down his spine and Scorpion Deep's adoration of him turns bloody, Jonathan realizes the only way to end the nightmare is to destroy the monster one way or another. But once a god has awoken, the only way to be free is to pay a price of blood. 🥀 YA Gothic horror 🐙 Eldritch sea gods & monsters ♠️ Asexual protagonist 🪸 Sea rot body horror 🏚 Gloomy island setting 🖤 Queer monster romance 🫂 Friendship angst 🧠 Mental health rep UK friends - the book comes out 29th November!!! #bookreview #newrelease #youngadult #horror #lgbt by @lilp.reads
If you saw me at @mcmcomiccon yesterday spending way too much money, no you didn't 💅🏽 ✨ As with any successful haul, I just had to share the incredible bits I bought as well as got for free 💸 Entering Writer's Block, I managed to pick up a few books that were high on my TBR from @blackcrow_bks and @forbiddenplanet , which came with some amazing branded merch! I was also incredibly lucky to have walked past @dkbooks @sourcebooksuk @canelo_co at the right time as they were just about to hand out proofs, which sounds right up my street 😍 Wandering around, there were so many wonderful alternative and gothic stands with some GORGEOUS merch and I knew I needed to bring home some art and accessories. Let me tell you, I had to really restrain myself from blowing my budget on these stands but if you guys want any recs, definitely go check them out - I KNOW I'll be returning myself @studiograciia @tsukiblade.co @rollgothica @thiswickedcult 🖤 ⛓️ If you know me, I am an absolute dice goblin and will always pick up a set of dice at shows but to stop myself from buying any this time, I completely bypassed any TTRPG booths (it hurt but I made it) however I fell victim when I saw an ACOTAR board game... I'm just a girl, what can I say? All in all, my bank hurts but my cup is full so who cares 🥰 🤣 #mcm #comiccon #bookstagram #alternative #gothic by @lilp.reads

But when a political conspiracy drags her into the path of a cursed prince, ancient magic, and a war threatening the kingdoms, Neressa realizes the true monsters may not be the creatures lurking in the dark… but the men sitting on thrones. Now hunted by enemies on every side, Neressa is forced to confront the darkness growing inside her before it consumes everything she loves. Because vengeance has a price.
