We are beaming with pride when we look at all these stunning stills from our recent International Community Engagement Workshop ‘The Fifth Wall’, held in Shanghai, China - thank you to the fab @ben_sheldon for capturing all of the evening’s learning, movement and creation so vividly.

Thank you again, of course, to everyone at The Majestic for inviting and supporting us, and everyone who joined us as a participant - your boundless joy, curiosity and commitment means the world to us! by @limerence_immersive

This March, LIMERENCE hosted its first International Community Engagement Workshop, at the iconic Majestic Theatre in Shanghai, China - and we’re so pleased to share with you this short highlight reel of what we got up to…

We dived into the fundamentals of immersive physical storytelling, such as tension, touch, exploration and curiosity, using the techniques and methodology of pioneers in the field such as @punchdrunkint and @dreamawake.uk as a jumping off point, to then delve into the foundations of creating intimate solos and duets using Katie’s own approaches including the telling of “small stories” and “flirting with possibilities”.

We want to say the biggest thank you to the representatives and staff of The Majestic Theatre for inviting us to host at your fabulous venue, and for all the documentation of and support on the day.
We have so much gratitude for everyone who attended - (selling out the event within the first hour of advertising!) - and for all of your infectious excitement, engagement and enthusiasm.

We can’t wait to be back in China very soon, and continue to connect and create with many more wonderful creatives across the globe! by @limerence_immersive

We are beyond thrilled to announce LIMERENCE has been invited to host a second workshop whilst in Shanghai, in collaboration with the prestigious Majestic Theatre, located in the bustling centre of Jing’an - next door to the home of immersive legends @punchdrunkint Sleep No More: Shanghai!

We are so excited too to announce that this workshop has already SOLD OUT in record time - a mere hour after going public!

The LIMERENCE team thanks you all for the overwhelming support and engagement - it’s going to be incredible! by @limerence_immersive

This Friday, we proudly hosted our first LIMERENCE Community Engagement Workshop @cockpittheatre, resulting in an array of beautiful, engaging and thought-provoking creation from our inspiring panel of attendees.

We explored concepts such as miscommunication, distraction, intimacy and connection, through a specifically neurodivergent lens, cracking open the core central themes and foundations of LIMERENCE.

We want to say a massive thank you to all of the dancers, actors, performers and visual artists who attended, for your commitment, stunning work and monumentally valuable contributions to these initial stages of research and development for LIMERENCE.

We are delighted to introduce LIMERENCE Creator & Director KATIE GATHERCOLE!

Katie is a multi-disciplinary movement artist and director, whose work spans a wide scope of genres, often utilising aesthetics of both an immersive and physical design.

With inspirations countless, her developed movement practice draws on influences ranging from Butoh, Grotesque, Corporeal Mime and Expressionism, with an ethos rooted in the discovery, honouring and bolstering of genuine human connection, and a goal to both push and blur the boundaries that separate the roles of both the audience and the performer.
She aims to maintain a flexible, dynamic and ever-exploratory physical language within her work, but with a particular interest in exploring qualities such as restriction, contortion, ambiguity, questioning, playfulness, lingering, weight and vulnerability.

Her recent performance credits include collaborations with Muziektheatre Transparant, Vinicius Salles and AKRO Theatre, with movement direction experience spanning across stage, film and open workshop environments.

Katie is beyond excited to finally be bringing her work LIMERENCE to life! by @limerence_immersive
