Senior Year! Hard to believe this is our final parents weekend at Georgetown 💙 The time flew by, but these families became like family, in no time at all! We are so grateful for every friend and every memory. Only a few more meet-ups in this very special place. Won’t take a single moment of it for granted. I love you and all of your people beyond measure @jacksonwuepper 💙🙏💙 by @lindsrhutch

Happy heavenly Mother’s Day, Mama. My first without you here, and I just seem to miss you more every single day. The eulogy I wrote for you, still running through my head on repeat. The number of times I’ve needed to call you, for both the big and the trivial things. The touch of your hand. The sound of your laughter. Your steadiness. I look for you everywhere. I see you in sunshine and hummingbirds and flowers. And sometimes, as I sleep, a much needed visit in my dreams. You are everywhere and nowhere at all - I am constantly reminded how love can transcend… And as I look at Jackson and Kate, how joy and pain can coexist- Here without my mama, but still getting to be one to them. You always told me it was the best thing in the world … You were right (again) I’m so grateful I get to know this one truly unconditional love - from you and for them. Your light is in all of us still… and always. I love you, mama and I will forever celebrate you on this day (and every day) 🤍 Your Linds by @lindsrhutch

So many final moments 😭🙏💙 It is bittersweet witnessing it all with you @katewuepper - this feeling of wanting you to launch and fly … and yet wanting to hold onto you as tightly as I can, all at once. Watching you and Bella and Lucia dance together in your final Spring Concert @marymountla was emotional and beyond exceptional. What an incredible final dance with two of your dearest friends. I am so grateful to get to be a witness to the ways in which you share your many gifts. Thank you. I love you. And I am so proud of all you are and all you do. #overflow #twinfinity by @lindsrhutch
The MOST special time on our annual mama-daughter trip. Cherishing every moment!! Here’s to many more!! 🌴☀️ by @lindsrhutch
Day 31 One month. One month of laying my head on a pillow that is not my own - sheets that feel stiff and sterile and foreign. One month since I walked into the village to get a coffee at cafe Luxxe, picked up eggs at the grocery before making my son breakfast and taking him to the airport - back to college after Christmas break. One month since I felt the inconvenience of my daughter and I packing that one suitcase, certain we would be back by morning. One month ago already, since those flames I saw from a distance out my bedroom window, fiercely, blew into our sweet little town… our streets, our schools, our favorites hangouts, our homes… my place of refuge, renewal, and peace. I have spent a number of years doing a LOT of work, studying, learning… of deep and intentional healing. One of my greatest doctors/teachers taught me that “My life IS my medicine”. Meaning: The choices I make each and every day - what I expose my mind body and spirit to - Where I place my focus - what I look at, listen to, what I feed and put into, on and around my body, the people I surround myself with … EVERY single input in my life .. Is My Medicine. One month And I am hearing the voices … the whispers… It’s time to refocus It’s time to be strong It’s time to rebuild I do not doubt for a second the intentions, the beauty, and the love, and the compassion behind these words. And I DO know … I can, and I will focus I am strong I will rebuild But I made the decision to live True- Because living True is the best medicine… The only medicine. And it is what will continue to heal me - Day 31 One month And TODAY (not by accident. Never by accident.) my incredible teacher posted these words - “Sometimes our hearts hurt. Be raw. Be real. Be you. Someone needs it” So Right now (for now) … THIS is True. My heart is hurting So I’m showing up Raw … Real … ME True And maybe… just maybe… somebody else out there needs that. I hope so. 🙏❤️🙏 by @lindsrhutch
Day 23 Each time I am here - I find myself not wanting to leave. I just want our lives our community our routine back It’s this crazy feeling that even though there is nothing left of my house- even though it is pure rubble - I just want to be there … I just want to be “home” I want to bathe in the ashes of my life, my “things”, my furniture, my pictures and letters and bedding… my everyday experiences and my memories. I want to keep digging deeper and deeper into the rubble, hoping I’ll come out on some other side of this - some brighter side. Or maybe if I dig deep enough, the life I had there will emerge again - out from under the bent metal, the shattered and melted glass and the ashes of everything that just 23 days ago… was all just right here. It was all just. right. here. I keep imaging that night - wondering how fast it all happened. Wondering how these empty houses, although vacant of our human bodies, felt as they were swept away in this burning inferno. How fast did it happen? Did they all go in a rush, swept away all together? Or was it one by one by one? There is this desire , this need, to see, observe, KNOW what happened here To have some proof or be a witness to it… somehow Because how could we leave with everything and come back to nothing? We need to see what happened to believe it’s real. And yet, of course it is real. As I sit here pulling the layers of burnt drywall back to reveal what I think must be my bedroom, my closet, my bathroom…. Shoveling away roof tiles, bathroom countertop? Showers tiles? Part of the mirror? Breathing heavy through my respirator mask, digging my gloved hands into the ash, trying desperately to find something that might resemble anything that was once ours. How could this not be real? But I think this is part of the disassociation that happens in times like these. Sitting there feeling more connected to almost anything I’ve ever created… And yet not seeing any proof that it ever existed. I somehow have to leave myself…. observe from a distance what my physical body is experiencing… And just keep digging And trusting And knowing God has us by @lindsrhutch
Day 17 I just haven’t had the ability to post anything before now… and even now my hand feels heavy, my head continues to spin and grasp for clarity, and my heart is utterly shattered. I am writing this update from a hotel bed- still waking every single morning after vivid dreams and nightmares about the fires - the lost pictures, the letters, the should-haves, the “why didn’t I just..”, the “I had more time…”. Dreams of inching my way through the perfect space I finally created for myself and my kids. The fresh start, the beautiful furniture, and rugs and lighting - each piece chosen with purpose and intention and love. Images of the bright sunlight beaming through my windows. Sipping hot water and fresh lime on my front stoop where I read, meditated, and prayed each morning. The oasis and the place of healing it was for me. Here in a hotel, 17 mornings later, waking to the gut punch that this is not a nightmare… This is real. This loss. This grief. This is part of me now. And the thing about grief is it won’t ever go away. And oddly, I don’t know that I want it to. I don’t ever want to forget what this house - this home - meant to me… what it did for me. This house represented - symbolized so much. It helped rebuild me. It was medicine in its Truest form. It fed and fueled my soul - it was a space where my nervous system finally, FINALLY settled, and calmed … This house - it healed me. Continued in comments… by @lindsrhutch
