🌘 Lineage is a character-driven physcological thriller about best-selling author Annie Bell, who returns to her hometown when her estranged mother goes missing. Under pressure to finish her next book, Annie teams up with her reclusive older sister Ronogh and begins to uncover artifacts tied to forgotten Norse traditions. As the search intensifies, Annie’s grip on reality weakens, and she must choose whether to walk away or step deeper into the truth her family has buried. #LineageFilm #IndieFilmCommunity #FemaleDirector #PsychologicalThriller #NorseMythology by @lineagefilm
What films do you know that cover the feminine side of Norse mythology? Drop them in the comments. Lineage. Coming soon. Do you still seek to know? #lineagefilm #thevolva #thevolur #womeinnorsemythology #psycologicalthriller by @lineagefilm
Some people are born knowing how to hold things together. Ronogh Bell was nine years old the first time she saw something she wasn’t supposed to see. She never told a soul. While her sister left and became someone the world recognized, Ronogh stayed. She managed the appointments nobody kept, the prescriptions nobody took, the calls nobody answered. She held the family together with both hands, even as it came apart. Nobody wrote a book about that. Are you the older sister who held everything together or the little sister who blew it all open? Tell us in the comments. Lineage. Coming soon. #lineagefilm #SisterDynamics #FolkHorror #IndieHorrorFilm #WomenInHorror by @lineagefilm
Annie Bell learned early that the world rewards the fearless. She grew up to become one of the most recognized voices of her generation — a writer who made a career out of pulling back curtains on everyone else. No story too private and no subject off limits. What nobody saw was what happened after the lights went off. The missed calls from her sister. The mother she hadn’t spoken to in years. When that mother is dying, and refusing to do anything about it, Annie goes home for the first time in decades. And discovers that the woman who raised her had been keeping something that makes every secret Annie ever exposed look like nothing. Some things run deeper than family. Deeper than memory. Deeper than blood. Lineage. Coming soon. #lineagefilm #indiefilms2026 #norsemythologyfilms #psychologicalthrillers #doyoustillseektoknow by @lineagefilm
The older you get, the more you realize — did you ever really know your mother? Nobody asks too hard about why certain names were off limits, or why she kept things in that room nobody went into. Annie Bell built a career pulling back curtains on other people. She never looked behind her own. When her mother is dying — and refusing to do anything about it — Annie goes home. And finds out the woman she thought she knew had been keeping something ancient. Lineage. Coming soon.

What happens when the thing your family has been hiding is older than any of them knew? Lineage is a psychological supernatural thriller about a woman who returns home to a dying mother — and discovers her family’s secret reaches back to Viking Age Scandinavia. Think Midsommar’s dread. Sharp Objects’ family rot. And something entirely its own

Every family has a story they don’t tell. In Lineage, Annie believes truth is freedom.
Her mother believes some truths demand sacrifice. It completes the cycle. If uncovering your mother’s truth meant finishing something she tried to protect you from… Would you still open that door? Comment your answer. #psycologicalthriller #norsemythology #hypothetical #lineagefilm #independentfilms by @lineagefilm
Some truths don’t set you free. In Lineage, Annie doesn’t just investigate her past — she weaponizes it. And the people in the blast radius are the ones who love her most. What if the truth cost you your mother? Your sister? Would you still choose finding the truth? #psycologicalthriller #norsemythology #hypothetical #lineagefilm #independentfilms by @lineagefilm
“My next book will be a personal exploration into the… complicated person that is my mother.” If you had to choose between your reputation and your mother’s… what would you sacrifice? Tell us below. And if stories that challenge loyalty, identity, and legacy matter to you — help us bring this one to life. Every story has a bloodline. Every truth has a cost. Lineage is a psychological thriller inspired by Norse mythology, following best-selling author Annie Bell — a woman celebrated for her brutal honesty and condemned for the lives she’s exposed in print. When her past begins to bleed into her present, the line between confession and curse begins to unravel. This film doesn’t exist without you. We’re building Lineage independently — outside the studio system — and we need our community to help bring it to life. If you believe in bold, unsettling storytelling, head to the link in our bio and tap the Support tab to contribute to the making of the film. Be part of the bloodline.
