We received sad news from tourists that today Jessica can no longer walk, and it seems she cannot defecate or urinate. Yesterday, when volunteers fed her, she was still able to walk.

First, We have to say that Jessica is an elderly beach dog. She has always valued her freedom and independence. However, due to her age, she has been sick for several months with kidney disease, blood parasites, and heartworm. Our team has been giving her the medications prescribed by the veterinarian. In addition, three people have been regularly taking care of her and feeding her.

But today has come to the point where she can no longer move both of her hind legs. We walked to the beach to bring Jessica in because she can no longer survive on her own there.

We know she won’t be happy about this, because she loves her freedom and dislikes staying in small spaces. Normally, she doesn’t even let anyone touch her. She once had the good fortune of having someone who wanted to adopt her, but due to her poor health and old age, it was no longer possible. And this time, we had no choice but to bring her to the shelter for treatment and close monitoring, to see what more we can do to help this old girl. 🫶🏾🥺🐶 taken in Koh Lipe Satun Thailand by @ford_islandlife
