Our Yorkshire blogger @thelittlelifeofshazzap meets actress @lisatheallen for a fascinating conversation about northern roots, resilience and a career spanning British television. From The Full Monty to life on the Yorkshire moors, discover the woman behind the roles. Actress Lisa Allen on fortitude, finally fitting the box, and the pie her grandad ate every day for the rest of his life. If you have watched British television over the past three decades, you have almost certainly watched Lisa Allen. Heartbeat, Waterloo Road, DCI Banks, Silent Witness, EastEnders, Emmerdale, Crongton, Alma’s Not Normal, Funny Woman, Passenger and Disney’s The Full Monty, in which she played Kath. She is the face you know before you know why: the copper at the door, the nurse at the bedside. And yes, she laughs, she is still playing nurses. #LisaAllen #WomenOfSubstance #NorthernActress #BritishTelevision #Yorkshire by @lisatheallen

SEVEN DAYS left to support DOUG and there’s some amazing REWARD options 💗 Executive producer credits, signed posters, invites to screenings, producer masterclass and even a gardening class! AND you get to see me dressed as a NANNA! Nothing unusual there, except I’ll be singing and dancing and possibly doing unspeakable things. I think this musical, comedy, horror is going to win big at festival. Don’t miss your chance to back a beautiful British film 🎥 🍿and it won’t cost you a fortune. Please support them, however small 🙏⭐️ Link to support can be found @mordecaifilms_ by @lisatheallen

I’m on a train. And while I’m on the subject of trains… if we supposedly have ‘quiet’ coaches, can we please have OFFICE coaches? That way, all the ‘people’ with laptops that loudly hold online MEETINGS, can sit together and shout at each other. by @lisatheallen
