This weekend marked my first time attending @engadinarttalks, and wow — what powerful, moving conversations we witnessed around the theme of (increasing) Bonds & (closing) Gaps.

From ETH’s Mariam Issoufou, we heard an eye-opening discussion on architecture and restitution, and the potential for new museum concepts that better respect cultures and artifacts by keeping them rooted in their places of origin.

I was deeply moved by Otobong Nkanga’s fiery performance. A wonderfully earthy artist and poet, she reminded us that “the heart is the first place in which you feel.”

Ece Temelkuran offered her candid view of the world, speaking on exile, moral and emotional homelessness, and her new book Nation of Strangers. As she so powerfully put it, “Let’s drop the act,” asking the urgent question: “How do we survive and remain humane in a time when humanity has lost faith?”

Most profoundly inspiring was Ivan Lefkovitz, who shared his experience of surviving Ravensbrück concentration camp as a young boy during the Holocaust. The images and memories he shared moved me to tears and will stay with me forever. What a beautiful testimony to the resilience of the human spirit.

Thank you to all of the curators and staff who made this extraordinary event possible. I can’t wait to see what next year has in store! #engadinarttalks2026 #engadin #artsandculture #switzerland by @lisaturin_art

As we head into Dia de los Muertos, I want to make a tribute to one of my favorite artists… Salvador Dalí. An exceptional painter and brilliant mind, whose imagination reminds me to stay curious, embrace the strange, and take creative risks.

A humble reminder not to take yourself too seriously—stay weird. 🖤 by @lisaturin_art

The Recreation of Adam (The Space Between) 2024–2026

Created over a period of two years, this painting is comprised of more than thirty layers of acrylic stains, each leaving a trace beneath the next, gradually building the image into being.

Reminiscent of Michelangelo’s “The Creation of Adam”, its meaning emerges in the space between the forms of the lower left and upper right corners.

The gesture — two hands reaching out towards each other, arose spontaneously, guided by water and gravity. Organic shapes charged with anticipation, and the possibility of creation.

Thank you to this amazing guy for the beautiful drawing table he built (and in general for being my best friend, a kick ass adventure buddy + PIC). My studio (and heart ♥️) has considerably improved because of you. Thank you for being the kind humble intelligent authentic loving human being you are. We had so much fun in Venice this summer, touring the Biennale. The outstanding performance art at the Austrian pavilion was our favorite! We will wear the “PISS” hat with pride. Today Kiki came by the studio for a visit. I pulled out my new painting with Indian yellows, soft pinks and gold and snapped some photos of her and Chloe 🐶💛🧡 #emergingartist #femaleartist #contemporaryart by @lisaturin_art

S T A I N S : an experimental style process, and study of human instinct as an act of rebellion against AI #contenporaryart #emergingartist #femalartist by @lisaturin_art

This painting arrived quietly…. Like the moment the antimatter exploded into the matter and created us. A magical burst of life. Every stain is one of a kind… same drop won’t fall twice 💥#femaleartist #emergingartist #contenporaryart by @lisaturin_art
