Presenting: Things I’ve made lately. A new series to motivate myself to post more projects and create more🧚‍♀️💅🏻 This month I added another screenprinted tee to my list: long sleeves! After being sick for nearly three weeks, I was starving to do something creative with my hands, and screenprinting something fun felt perfect (the screen was also already ready to go). This design started as a pandemic doodle and has already appeared on totebags (iykyk), and now it’s on long sleeves too.🧚‍♀️ Inspired by a band merch tee I’ve loved and lived in since November (shoutout @thescratchmusic ), I wanted to make a similar shirt with my own design. Swipe to see the final product + some very messy photobooth behind-the-scenes video/shots. And! If you want an L or XL, black or dark green tee, let me knoow.🌝🧚‍♀️ #screenprinting #merchdesign #printmakingprocess by @lise_blekastad
Taking Root is out in the world! I had the pleasure of designing the layout for this beautiful new magazine by @commonland4returns , celebrating the land restoration movement. From shaping the print pages to adapting the experience for web and mobile, it’s been such a lovely and meaningful project to work on. Sharing a few glimpses of the mobile version here. The web version is best experienced on a desktop screen, but I quite like the mobile version too💚 Check it out on commonland.com/takingroot #editorialdesign #webdesign #magazinedesign #landrestoration #regeneration by @lise_blekastad
When I moved back to Berlin in 2022 I set a goal to start brining my analogue cameras along and actually use them. This account is supposed to be for things I make so here we go photography🧚‍♀️ First roll, just (some of) my fave people🫶 #photography #rollei35 #olympus #kodakgold200 #analoguephotography #fotokotti by @lise_blekastad
🧚‍♀️Quarterly post keeping this account alive!🧚‍♀️ Over the past few months, I’ve had the joy of designing the visual identity and an online publication for our project Focus for @areweeurope. Together with @josephinelouisab , @rita_tee and @sabfaramarzi we’ve published seven stories (so far) by journalists highlighting the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. Check it out on focus.areweeurope.com (or link in my bio) What I worked on 🌈 Complete visual profile: color palette, typography, layouts. 🖋️ Article templates and individual article designs including illustration and dataviz elements. 🔗 Visual consistency across the series, yet flexibility per article. 🖥️ Built the Focus publication in @readymag One challenge was balancing uniform branding with giving each article its own identity. I experimented with typography, image styles, and modular layouts to find the perfect balance. A strong visual profile builds trust and coherence, while making content more engaging. For this project, my goal was to create an exciting, immersive experience for readers through design. ✨ More articles are coming soon. Stay tuned as the publication continues to grow. by @lise_blekastad

From San Jose to Sortland🏔️🌊 I was so lucky to not only visit @beccamarch10 amazing country but also get a masterclass in stained glass art! With (a lot of) help from la artista herself I was able to create this scene inspired by the view of the ocean and mountains seen from my Mom’s house. And now it finally got home wrapped as a birthday present and now it hangs in front of the view it is based on🥹 Manifesting @beccamarch10 future glass workshop in Berlin!!!🫶🌝✨ #stainedglassart #stainedglass #stainedglassdesign by @lise_blekastad
Last week I attended a great workshop at @publixberlin and @promopromo.studio by @designdisco_org 🌟 We dug into ways to improve teaching and learning design and got to meet a bunch of lovely, creative people. Huge props to all the facilitators and critical friends🫶 A tiny special appreciation for sending us on a field trip, asking us to collect something while taking 30 minutes of public transport. During this, @jeissonmartin came up with the brilliant idea for us to capture the movement of the 227 bus—using a taped-up pen, a notebook, and ✨our amazing balance✨. For the past few weeks, I’ve been craving making something by hand but just missing the right project. This inspired me to create a tiny zine, showcasing these cute works of art made by us (and the bus!). Using the cheapest printer paper — and forcing my printer into printing double-sided — I really enjoyed some cutting, folding, and sewing. Hopefully, more to come soon! 🧚‍♀️ by @lise_blekastad
