POSTS STORIES REELS

hii! this is my formal reintroduction (after 3 years of having this account and posting on and off woops)
here’s a few things about me 🖤🖤

big points!! i married my sweet husband in 2021 and have been living the dreamiest fairytale ever since. we have two sons who wear us out everyday (middle picture is my 2.5 year olds footprints after dumping out cocoa powder). we also have two cats, beans and blink! most importantly for why you’re here, i’m writing a book! a fantasy/dark academia. more about it coming up!

i’ve been obsessed with reading my entire life. it has been my main hobby pretty much every year of my life (besides a few busy years in high school and of course before i learned how to read)

i’m 24, living in san antonio at the moment. i’ve lived in many different states! my favorite place so far was virginia (and am hopefully going back soon!) i claim louisiana as where i “grew up” contrary to being born in mississippi. it’s where i met my childhood (and current) besties

i spend a LOT of my free time playing league. and i suck! but that’s okay, my husband plays with me anyway. i dilly dally with other games (marvel rivals, street fighter, dark souls) but not much else sticks like the curse of league.

i collect pokemon! my favorite is tinkaton🩷
i also collect magic (and play on occasion. go to deck is my tmnt deck)
i also have collected a good bit of riftbound and some random tcgs

i simply have no idea if i have anymore things to say about myself. i play games and read and write and hang out with loved ones. i love post malone and twilight and girls days! ok thats it. bye! love ya

a recap of my october👻🎃

what did you do this month?

i finished two books and started a new one!

halloween was a blast. we were spiderman, spider gwen, the spider that but spiderman, and jonah j jameson

we trick or treated, put the kids to bed and passed out candy and pokémon, and then drank spooky cocktails while painting pumpkins!

me and my girls had our first book club meeting! we yapped about books for about 15 minutes and then drank too much wine and yapped about everything under the sun

i’m proud of how much i wrote this month! i wrote some exciting chapters that i had been looking forward to for months. included a google search because they’re always chaotically written and never make much sense

photo dump 1: cod, ballet, matcha, daily life

photo dump 2: alpacas, date night, coffee, cats

i’ll start. discovery, growth, divinity

that was harder than i thought. if you’re like me and are having trouble thinking of three, share whatever you want! i’d love to meet author friends 🖤🤍

i picked this blind, i was just walking through barnes and the cover intrigued me. this was ALMOST a 5 star. i took off .75 due to one somewhat minor plot point that i didn’t like at the end. otherwise, this was a beautiful story. i loved the characters (and hated some). i thought that the storytelling was written beautifully, and the author’s language created the world to be whimsical but also realistic. as realistic as a mermaid book can be, at least. the plot twist at the end had me speed reading. i knew something crazy was going to happen but i did not expect the betrayal that unfolded (but was delighted by it anyway)

give it a read if you’re into mermaids, found family, betrayal, finding ones place in the world, and sapphic romance! wonderful read🩵

what motivates you in your craft?

mine is my husband, my friends, and my family. they are so incredibly supportive in my writing journey and it makes me feel like i could do anything 🖤

my husband and friends

i look up to my dad so much. he’s done so much for our family, but specifically he believes in me no matter what. he has his own book (go read it) and has been encouraging me along my own writing process. he gave me a goal of doubling my word count (almost there) and said he’d pay for a date night for me and my husband. i love you dad

when my friends share my content i get so giddy. i love them

family, close friends, and even friends i’ve met along the way have been so so supportive. grateful for my little circle by @literaturehoarder

a day in the life as a writer and mom!
i’m currently in a creative slump and couldn’t figure out how to make this look good so i’m posting it to get it lut of my brain. also not writing anything that i like right now and it’s making me craaaazyyy🫠

anyway enjoy this slow day in my life where i mainly just got bullied by my kids and then it was time for book club!!

working on the first draft of my novel, i don’t edit as i go (most of the time), but i do leave myself some “encouraging” notes…

i am my own worst enemy. most of these things are actually fine in hindsight. but i will always hate on my own work (as much as i simultaneously love it)

do you edit as you go or leave notes and move on?

this book kept me hooked! struggling with their marriage, a couple retreats to what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation. even before arriving, it goes terribly. it feels like they’ve been driving forever, and nothing seems to be “relaxing” about the trip at all. they arrive at the location; an old church in the middle of nowhere. something’s off about it, or maybe something is just off with THEM. something weird is going on and they (and i) couldn’t figure out what it was.

marriage struggles, past family trouble, broken trust, and no hope for the future makes a perfect blend of uncertainty..and a whole bunch of chaos

definitely worth the read this fall!
