A blind song reaction to close out Black Music Month! 🎶

Why not? Who said the “lit” in Lit With Lit had to be about drinks only? Sometimes we just vibe out and let the music do the talking. 😂🔥

Come hang with us and let’s see where this playlist takes us!

Ignore the wrinkled tablecloth. Let’s focus on the smiles.

We had the chance to pass out books at Teen Summit RVA, and every teen who stopped by our table left either newly inspired or with an even deeper love for reading.

It’s the moments like these remind us how powerful stories can be. Stay tuned for our next event!

People asked how I pick books for Lit With Lit.

The answer is equal parts educator brain, nonprofit budget, and bookstore gremlin energy 😂 by @litwithlit

So grateful for the incredible book donations we’ve received so far!!!

Because of you, more stories are going to be reaching more hands, sparking imagination, learning, and opportunity in our community.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, it’s not too late! Every book makes a difference and we’re just getting started.

Let’s keep the momentum going. Donate today and help us turn pages into possibilities.

Alright yall!

We’ve been invited to serve over 600 high school students at an upcoming event and we’re asking our friends and family to help us make it happen!

We’re working to collect 200 YA books and we already have 70! Only 130 more to go!

If you have any new or gently used Young Adult books (high school appropriate), we would LOVE to collect them and get them into the hands of teens who need them.

Every single book matters.
Every donation makes an impact.
Every story can change someone’s life.

If you’d like to donate, click on the link in our bio or message me directly or comment below and I’ll coordinate pickup/drop-off.

Let’s show up for the community in a big way!

Love stories > love letters
Whether you’re in love, healing, soft again or side-eyeing your situationship… we got you covered.

Today feels like the perfect day to fall into a story that reminds you what love can look like… messy, patient, grown and sometimes a little chaotic.

Save this for your next cozy night in and tell us: which one are you starting first?

Happy Valentine’s Day from Mostly Sugar 🖤

Everyone: “Read Toni Morrison!”
Also everyone: “Why is this soo hard?!”

Because history, dialect, and vocabulary matter. Her language is intentional. Her vocabulary is historical.

Slow down. Trust the context. Let the story speak for itself. Grow as a reader.

Here we go! Time to grab your cup and let’s talk about vocabulary in some of the books we read.

I’m not talking about every word in the book though. I’m talking about readers coming across one word in the book and all of a sudden everything has lost its meaning.

Keep reading and focus on the story. by @litwithlit
