POSTS STORIES REELS

If you're new here, welcome.

I'm Lize Okoh, a photographer, author, educator, and creative entrepreneur based in London.

Over the past two decades, my career has evolved in ways I never expected. What started with a camera became a photography business. That business grew into speaking, teaching, writing, creating educational resources, and helping photographers build businesses that are just as sustainable as they are creative.

Along the way, my work has been exhibited internationally, featured by publications including The Guardian, BBC, and Amateur Photographer, and introduced me to some incredible people and stories.

But if there's one thing that connects everything I do, it's this:

Transformation.

Helping women see themselves differently through photography.
Helping photographers see the value of their work through education.
Helping people change the way they see themselves and the world around us through stories.

This is the work I'm most proud of.

So whether you're here to book a boudoir session, learn more about photography, grow your business, or you're simply curious...

I'm so glad you're here. by @lizeokoh

I'm thrilled to be featured in The Guardian 🎉
Deciding to specialise in boudoir photography before it became popular or "fun" to do wasn't an easy path.

But moments like these, when I'm affirmed that the work I do is helping, is a blessing. And it's so heartwarming that I got to share the feature with my amazing client, Makeda, who had her first session with me in February 2020.

We've had four more sessions together and this has been a brilliant way to cement our journey in print and online @guardian ✨

It feels great to be one of the many to be featured. Cheers to impacting more lives on this incredible journey where art meets purpose ❤️📸 by @lizeokoh

Hi photographers, if your pricing still feels like guesswork, this one’s for you.
I just uploaded a new YouTube video breaking down exactly how to calculate your prices for profit. No fluff, no confusing maths, just the real framework every photographer should be using.

Because the truth is that you can be talented, booked, and delivering beautiful work… but if your pricing isn’t built strategically, you’ll always feel like you’re chasing your income instead of owning it.

So if you want 2026 to be the year your business finally feels stable, profitable and intentional, go watch the video.

🔗 Click the L1nk in my bio to learn the full calculation breakdown.

And if you’re ready to take it even further, I’ve also created a guide to help you master your pricing, structure your packages properly and step confidently into the new year with clarity.

Start 2026 strong — your business will thank you for it. ✨📸 by @lizeokoh

@iamisigo 's SS27 collection was nothing short of breathtaking and avant-garde.

But as a photographer in that space? The art direction and scenography by @hubert.crabieres were a whole other masterpiece to behold.

Every step, every turn, every detail felt masterfully composed. It was a storyteller's dream. 😍

I genuinely did not want to stop looking, let alone shooting. And if you watched my previous reel where I shared my favourite quote from Annie Leibovitz, you'll know exactly what I mean!

Back in the early days, we were just a bunch of creative kids figuring out our talents, excited to discover that there were other people like us. People who were also abandoning the traditional doctor/lawyer/medicine/engineering route to pursue the path less trodden.

Before the influencers, algorithms and goldfish attention spans, there were budding artists, creatives and visionaries simply trying to figure things out.

It was a time of genuine online community and camaraderie. Finding each other, connecting, sharing ideas and collaborating. And what a time it was!

@socialprefect was one of the pioneers in the travel space. Long before travel influencers became a thing, Chiamaka was showing us that exploring Lagos, Nigeria and the rest of Africa could be an adventure in its own right.

It's beautiful that, after all these years, we finally got to meet in person and spend some time together. ✨

I'm in Lagos lovelies!✨ And it's been heartwarming to finally experience the cultural season in-person.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of documenting @iamisigo SS27 presentation: Sacred Ecologies, at Lagos Fashion Week, and there was so much to take in.

The textures, the craftsmanship, the creative direction and the way each look seemed to hold a story of its own while being part of the collective!

There was something so special about a collection rooted in ancestral knowledge and our relationship with the land, and getting to document it through my lens was grounding.

The images and an essay about the collection and presentation will be on my website soon. ✨

There’s something special about seeing a photoshoot come full circle, from the time spent creating the images to finally having the finished products in your hands.

For me, this is one of the most rewarding parts of running a photography business. Beyond the photoshoot, the marketing, and all the behind-the-scenes work, there's the final experience of delivering beautiful, professionally printed products to a client.

I'm showing you what she ordered, the quality of the products, and a little more of what my clients get after working with me.

Enjoy the unboxing! by @lizeokoh

THE CONVERSATIONS WE NEED MORE OF. 💛🎤

A huge THANK YOU to our incredible panellists, @amandaakokhiaphotography, @ch.ebenezer_ and @lizeokoh, for bringing your honesty, knowledge and experiences to The Sustainable Freelancer. 🥹👏🏽

Thank you for being open about the realities of building a photography business, from pricing and money to finding your own path and creating a career that works for YOU.

These conversations matter. Because sometimes, hearing someone else share their journey is exactly what you need to feel encouraged, rethink your approach or realise you’re not alone in figuring it all out. 💛

We didn’t just want to bring photographers into a room; we wanted to create a space where we could learn from one another, share knowledge and leave feeling empowered to take our next steps.

And you helped us do exactly that! 🫶🏽

Thank you for showing up so generously and reminding us of the power of sharing what we know.

Your wedding can be intimate and still be extraordinary.

An elopement isn’t necessarily about spending less. It’s about deciding what matters most to you as a couple, whether that’s exchanging vows in Italy, sailing somewhere beautiful, or celebrating with the few people who mean the most to you.

No two weddings need to look alike, and neither should the way you choose to celebrate yours.

The real question is: what do you want your wedding day to feel like?

If you could plan your wedding entirely on your own terms, would you choose an elopement or a traditional wedding? by @lizeokoh

We talk about cameras, weddings and photographs here quite a lot.

But there is, in fact, a person operating the camera.

So here are a few things about me that have absolutely nothing to do with photography.

Your turn. Tell me one completely random thing about you. by @lizeokoh

Creativity is powerful. But creatives deserve to be paid well for the work they do, too. 💛📸

At The Sustainable Freelancer, our panelist @lizeokoh shared her perspective on building a creative career, doing meaningful work and making sure that creativity is valued financially as well as artistically.

Because being passionate about what you do doesn’t mean you should have to struggle to make a living from it.

We want to see photographers and creatives building careers that allow them to do work they love, serve their clients well AND be paid what they’re worth. 🙌🏽

That’s what building a sustainable creative career is all about.

A huge thank you to Lize for sharing her experience and being part of such an important conversation. 💛
