To the 1st man I ever loved and the first man to ever love me.

It’s only been 3 months and some days it feels like just yesterday while other days feel like years have passed. My mind mentally hasn’t been able to accept that you’re no longer here. I some days tell myself that you’re just still in rehab recovering and will be home soon and other days everything I look at somehow reminds me of you. Grief is so weird, and the overwhelm of these feelings just hit you randomly.

I’ve finally been able to look at pics of you and smile and I can talk about you without full on tears dripping from my eyes but I still can’t listen to your voicemails or else I’m a complete mess.

Some days I just want to call to tell you how my day has been or the cool new sweet treat I’ve tried. Swing by so you could see how big Ollie has gotten and tell you all the new words he’s learned. Or even just to hear you tell me that I can do tough things when I start to doubt myself.

You were everything a father was supposed to be, a provider, a protector, the biggest supporter but also a preparer. You’ve prepared us for this day since I was 11 years old and even after all these years, I’m still not ready.

I miss you so much. Not a single day goes by that I don’t think of you! To the best dad ever, Happy 1st Heavenly Father’s Day! by @lizzieonig

Happy 1st Birthday to my favorite boy!

Sidney, you are the light of our lives. You are nothing short of magic. Watching you grow and seeing the world through your eyes is awe inspiring.

This first year with you has been full of ups, downs, learning, and growing for all of us. While it wasn’t always easy, we always made it through even if that consisted of both tears and smiles within 5 mins of each other.

Thank you for being patient with us even if sometimes it seemed like we were failing. Your warm little smiles and infectious laughs proved we were doing things right, after all. And now we have a whole 1 year old!

Thank you for choosing me to be your mama! Thank you for being the absolute best son! I couldn’t have written this chapter a better way.

Love you to the next galaxy and back! by @lizzieonig

You bring so much joy to your mom and me. We’ve had a good amount of sleepless nights, wondering numerous times are we doing this parenting thing right. Now we have a one year old! I’m so glad and thankful you chose us. Your infectious smile and silly giggle can warm any heart. Love you Sid more than you’ll ever know. Happy Birthday!!! ❤️♾️ by @lizzieonig

And just like that we have a 6 month old! Happy 6 months Ollie 🥳! My sweet, bouncing, always curious, and very impatient baby boy! The amount of joy and happiness that you’ve brought to my life and the lives of those around you is immeasurable. Your smile brightens the worst of days, your many facial expressions “eyebrows lol” makes everyone laugh. Everyday I feel like you learn something new and it’s been a pleasure seeing you discover the world for the first time! Please slow down, I’m not ready! by @lizzieonig
