POSTS STORIES REELS

I’m a few days early for my BRS “Run-Versary” but I couldn’t wait🥹 It’s crazy to think that 3 years ago , on week 4 of starting BRS, I decided to give run clubs another try. Little did I know the profound impact @browardrunningsociety would have on my life. I’ve made some awesome connections and friends that are considered my ride or dies👯‍♀️👯‍♀️. We always talk about how making friends as adults is hard and sometimes awkward af, but what a great way to foster these kinds of connections through the love of running. Not only have I made some good friends that I consider family, I’ve been able to become part of leadership and host my own night 🥹 I don’t think I say it enough but this community truly keeps me uplifted and keeps my cup full. Ya’ll inspire me day in and day out and show me never to give up on myself. So thank you! From the bottom of my runner girl heart. Thank you for loving me as I am and trusting me with these spicy workouts (IYKYK) , thank you for showing up for this community that is ours. And I’ll always say it with my chest that THERE AIN’T NO RUN FAM LIKE THE ONE I GOT🩵🩵🙌🏽🫡

Seems like a good time for a little reintro of sorts, a lot of new faces around here. Welcome to my little corner of the internet where I condone hard work but also remind you that rest is part of the process and to have a little fun (it’s okay to not take yourself too seriously ) 😝 😌 Some fun facts about me:
✨My favorite distance is indeed the marathon. I love the challenge of the distance and there’s no way to “fake it ‘till you make it” If you don’t truly commit to the training it will show and you will suffer wayyyy more than you need to.
✨Go to mantra: I rotate between a few but my fav recently has been “Head up, heart forward”
One it’s a reminder to not let my form get sloppy when I’m tired and two it’s a mental reset for my confidence and to lead with my heart.
✨Wisdom for new runners: Be intentional. Don’t believe every single fad you see out there. Pick a distance, stay in your lane meaning don’t compare👉🏽 you don’t have to do what someone else is doing, it’s your journey not theirs , and train with intention not for attention.
✨ What sparked my love for running: my dad ran track as a teenager so in the 7th grade I decided to try out for the track team. 🏃🏽‍♀️What I didn’t know is that my Dad gave me one of the greatest gifts, something I can carry with me for the rest of my life so long as my legs are capable.
✨ Fav post run meal: Pizza or a fat burrito 🤤
And by pizza I mean the ENTIRE pizza 🍕 😝
✨ Favorite past time other than running: wandering around a bookstore. There’s just something about grabbing coffee and getting lost in a bookstore and walking out with a bunch of different stories. I feel like reading fiction keeps my imagination alive 🥰
Drop a comment if there’s something I missed 🩵

From my teenage years to my late 30’s, what always had a large presence in my life was running🏃🏽‍♀️ The consistency it provided kept me feeling safe and secure. Running brings me back to my self, grounds me and always saves me🩵 Forever in my runner girl era ✨

Launching November with three of my favorite fellow run coaches with: WHAT IS SOMETHING THEY DIDNT TELL YOU ABOUT BECOMING A RUN COACH?

And literally, there’s levity and seriousness in here.. it’s truth and transparency that AI simply cannot give you.

We care, we do a lot of calculations, and most importantly, we love.

Shout out to all of the badass athletes who work with us, trust us, and run alongside us. We love you!

✨An honest post✨
3 months might fly by but right now it feels so far away. Sometimes part of me feels like I’m going to lose so much of the fitness I’ve built but another part knows that this is just a blip on the timeline. Next year , 3 months will be in the rear view and hopefully we will be on the road back to running but for now I’m grieving the athlete that I was supposed to be. Hopefully that means the athlete I’ll become is that much wiser 🩵✨

Post Berlin Updates X 1.5 speed🏃🏽‍♀️💨
In the great words of my friend Chrisla… “Long story medium” 😆 We have had retrocalcaneal bursitis issues in the past( the bursa sac next to my Achilles) it went away up until earlier this year when she came back to pretty much stay. Because of the chronicity of it, calcifications have also started to form at the insertional site of my Achilles and 🫪 X-rays revealed that I have what’s called Haglund’s Deformity. Basically instead of a smooth heel bone I have a bony enlargement or bump on the back of my heel bone, which apparently is pretty common. Needless to say, he called this the ultimate trifecta 😵‍💫If you’ve been following me throughout this summer, you’ll know that this has been quite the journey getting to Berlin. Training for a marathon teaches you so much about yourself, and this my friends was not any different. This training block quickly became me constantly picking myself up and reminding myself to finish what I started and that this too shall pass. The intrusive thoughts just kept coming. I just told myself to keep showing up, no matter what it looked like. It became way more mental than physical, working through all of the negative feelings, it was probably one of the toughest blocks to date. Getting to that start line took so much out of me emotionally and physically. I felt an extreme sense of pride and gratitude when it came time to toe the line in Berlin, I knew whatever happened that day that I was just proud that I never gave up on myself. I’ve always known that I’m more than just my pace, more than just my finish time but this was such a stark reminder that getting to that start line should never be taken for granted because no matter what season you are in , it takes an immense amount of work to get there✨

Thursday nights with the BRS fam never miss 🙂‍↔️ Got some new angles with the Insta360 while the crew got after it on the track 🙌🏽 A little breeze had us dreaming of fall running weather. Until then, we’ll keep showing up hoping for a legit cold front 🥶🚀

Favorite day of the week. BRS track takeover Thursdays.
Where the crew shows up to get gritty 💪🏽 The rain held out until the final laps and gave us the ultimate cooldown ☔️

I’ve done solo trips before but an international one hits different✌🏽 Life is meant to be lived, not postponed. Take the trip, chase the sunsets, get a little lost, and collect memories in places you’ve never been 🩵✨

A little rain wasn’t stopping us from getting after it.
Big shoutout to the crew for showing up, getting uncomfortable, and putting in the work when it would’ve been real easy to stay home. That kind of consistency is what gets you to the start line ready. 💪🏽 Different location, same crew, same energy 🚀

After a couple days to process I still can’t believe I ran the Berlin Marathon 🤩🤩 From the expo to race day I kept saying “ I can’t believe I get to be here” Not a moment was taken for granted! This marathon was for all the times this summer I felt defeated and full of doubt that I could even make it to that finish line. I relearned the lesson of “comparison is the thief of joy” I spent so much time this summer comparing this block to last year’s, comparing myself to others” There’s always a lesson to learn and training with Achilles tendinopathy taught me that it’s okay to slow down, it’s okay that completion is the goal bc only 1% of people in the entire world can say they completed a marathon. The first half of the race I felt good , maybe even too good lol but the second half of the marathon was a fight to the finish. I have many theories as to why I struggled and I really think part of the issue was being behind on hydration from traveling. I think Wednesday and Thursday I didn’t do my best job in keeping up with that and boy did I feel that brain fog in the later miles. But just like I did this summer , I just kept fucking going , no matter what it looked like. I dug deep and got gritty because mama didn’t raise no quitter!!
I was in a city full of history on the most incredible course, my third world major and there was no way I was leaving there without my third star ⭐️ I kept telling myself “Head up, heart forward” my all time favorite mantra because when those legs get tired you run your heart out babe! I kept taking the next best step and before I knew it, I made it to the blue carpet! We crossed that finish line and I cannot be more proud of myself for not giving up this summer and not giving up on race day. It was amazing to see BRS out there on the course! @gerandrab you guys have no idea how much I needed to see familiar faces out there! Thank you for cheering and making a girl feel special! Thank you to anyone who took the time to show me love and wish me luck and to everyone who left a voice message on @runwithrally it truly meant the world to me!
