"Books about nature, for children, can encourage curiosity and excitement. They can also empower young readers to realise the active part they can play in preserving the natural world around them."—Luke John Matthew Arnold 🙌 We are delighted to share that 'Save the Gum Trees, Bees and Big Blue Seas', by iconic Australian visual artist Luke John Matthew Arnold, has been shortlisted for the Wilderness Society's Environment Award for Children's Literature in the picture fiction category. 📖 This eye-catching picture book is a colourful call to action to love the land, and everything upon it. Recommended for ages 3-8 years old, it's published by @scholastic_au. 👉 Pick up your copy of the book from our partner @harryhartogbookseller, who are donating 10% of shortlisted book sales back to the Wilderness Society—so we can continue to protect nature now, and into the future. 📚 Discover all the shortlisted books and purchase your copies at eacl.org.au, or at the @wilderness_aus link in bio. . . . #naturebooks #kidsbooks #AusBookstagram #picturebookswelove #EACL by @ljmakids

Stoked. Shocked. Smiling. Thank you so much @cbcaustralia for shortlisting my book. As the philosophic poet Hilary Duff once scribed “this is what dreams are made of…” Image description: a light pink and blue watercolour-esque brush stroked background with a photo of a charcoal book in the centre, with the title covering the cover in pop colour uppercase text saying “save the gumtrees bees and big blue seas.” The title and my name Luke John Matthew Arnold is typed above book and below is “award for new illustrator” and a gold sticker on the right. #cbca #childrensbook #illustration #drawing #love by @ljmakids
