ACOUSTIC FOREVER SOUND DESIGN

@katkatmusic and I have been scraping off, rolling in, swimming with and recording non humans, folding into the sound, amplifying them, harmonising with, imagining their voices

(selkie sightings not included :,))

It’s been a really extensive process of building sound in tandem with materials & puppets for the show.

Very grateful for the gentle time spent on res @kneehighbarns alongside a very inspiring group of artists, thinkers & coconspirators a few weeks back.

WHAT’S THAT SKULKING IN THE DARK… somewhere between a puppet show, lecture and ritual, no closeness is close enough…

It is my pleasure to announce ‘ACOUSTIC FOVEA,BABY’ (WIP) is coming to London as part of THE LEMON 26 festival of alternative theatre @playhouseeast

It’s been a joy making this strange love letter and I can’t wait to share it with you

As autumn arrives I’m reflecting on some work over the summer with this wonderful bunch on ‘How I Grew a Moustache’ @bushtheatre @artsadm

Octavia Butler said "the more personal, the more universal" and I have included a snippet at the end of her v inspiring notes to herself.
This feels very present with this show and it was magic work being part of Riwa’s process

Now more than ever is a time of endings and swift transformations, so it felt timely to be thinking collectively about how and where we hold grief, and its ability to travel across and unite different times and bodies

Ever grateful to this power crew

A few days late for world puppetry day.. belated celebration after graduating from @curiouspuppetry this month 💕💕💕💘💘❣️❣️❣️♥️♥️♥️ It was an unbelievable honour to learn from some of the best in the bizz alongside this gorgeous bunch of puppet nuts. So lucky to have made sweet friends from all across the world

Lead by the ultimate powerhouse @sarahwght and supported by @jemimayong. Thank you for your overflowing passion, inspiration and care in making this whole journey so unforgettable and transformative.

The puppets and their operators have taught me so much around organising collectively, listening to non human, material and bodily intelligence and the endless potential of imagination and storytelling.

Thanks @noufribachdim for some of these beautiful pics and for being the bestestest 🥰 by @llllika
