Not many people know that we’ve been visiting the vet at least once a week since SEP of last year, and at least every 2 weeks since early 2022. And Logan’s lungs were compromised even more with the rupture of his mass (he hasn’t slept well in a while), and there were increasing signs of metastasis to the nervous system.

Logan fought so hard for & with us. In fact, given the complexity of his condition, we are still grateful that he was asymptomatic for the most part.

After exerting so much of his dwindling energy to gift us the best final good memory last Thu (he tried his best to walk, enjoy, and even give us a good night’s sleep after so long), he gave us a clear sign yesterday that he was exhausted and that it was time to let him go.

It was also clear to us from the start that we had to make decisions for Logan’s best, not for our interest. It was time to set him free.

We made sure he still got to lick off Coco Loco before sleeping (the only thing he had the energy to ingest besides water at this point — we even applied some on his nose & paws after sleeping forever), and that he heard our voices and felt our touch (and love!) down to his last breath.

Thank you again & again to everyone for loving Logan like he was your own pet/family. Special thanks to @docracky, Doc @kathleengayl, Doc Jimwell, Kuya Bert/RJ, and the rest of Mt. Sinai fam for taking such good care of Logan and helping us give Logan his best shot at getting better. No regrets.

Yesterday was his lolo’s (daddyo’s dad) 1st year death anniv, and we realized that they both passed at around 5PM of FEB 03. We couldn’t have asked for a better “sundo.” ♥️

We imagine him welcoming us in heaven this way one day when it’s our turn. ‘Til we meet again, our darling Logy boi. Thank you for making our lives brighter. 🌈✨

We have the best memories to last us a lifetime. 🌸 Forever grateful.

P.S. Sorry in advance if we can’t reply to everyone, but we know that your love for Logan is real. We cannot thank you enough for making Logan feel so so loved throughout the years. Thank you for making sure we didn’t feel alone esp during the toughest days. We are sure that Logan felt your love too. 💛 by @loganandlunathewelsh

Our new foster bibi GLORIA is looking for her furever home. 💚 Hope you can take the time to go through the next photos/videos to get to know her better. 😊 You may also view our “Gloria” highlight (and future stories) to follow her journey as we also get to know her better & try to expose her more to a home setting and to new people/places.

Hope you can also help repost & share in your stories to reach more people. :) If interested in adopting Gloria, please contact @pawssionproject @pawssion.adoptions.

Thank you!!

Most recent video on a leash (OCT 29). We are confident with her progress. :)

She tends to hold her pee, and only pees 2x a day even if we take her out more often! I highly doubt we will experience any indoor accidents with Gloria. 😉

She didn’t need to be accompanied by a human; she just stayed in her safe corner. 😊 It was a kiddie party where there were almost 15 kids running around, and while she was cautious, she simply stayed in her corner without barking at any of the kids. 💗 I don’t th by @loganandlunathewelsh

Tomorrow is Logan’s earthly birthday (OCT 16). 🩵 And last night, we finally did something we’ve been deferring for 3.5 years — getting in touch with an animal communicator.

We did not send specific questions in preparation for our session; I only sent a few photos of Logan without any brief. I particularly just wanted to be open to whatever comes out of his conversation with the animal communicator. I guess a part of me was not ready to hear something that may hurt (even if our dogs would never mean to) — for instance, asking “Did you feel loved?” etc.

We just want to share some things that stood out. 💖

1) He loved the beach and his adventures! Note that the animal communicator did not know that he was in the beach almost every week of his physical life, but she interpreted where he was as a beach-like place, and he was/is satisfied there.

When he was asked if he missed his adventures here, he said no because he was having so many adventures over there and that he’s just there waiting for us. 🩵😭 His energy there didn’t have BFFs, but he was just meeting random souls on his adventures (definitely sounds about right!). Logan’s energy had 2 specific humans (again, without the animal communicator knowing he’s always on trips with just the 2 of us), and he wanted the animal communicator to kneel beside him (we think he was asking for belly rubs). 😅

*more msgs about his beach adventures in the NEXT 2 CAPTIONS

2) He specifically “mentioned” that he wished he had a “little SISTER” though (again without the animal communicator knowing about Luna’s existence - we got in touch via email). 🥹 But Mong and I think that maybe what he was saying was that he wished he had met his little sister. I’ve shared here before that we were only looking at male corgo pups at first and met so many in person, but no one felt like “the one.” And we somehow ended up with a female pup we only saw through a video (she was based in CEBU), and later on realized she was born on FEB 02, 2023 (Logan died on FEB 03, 2023). 😭

Happy birthday in heaven, Logy!!! Enjoy your adventures up there, and with CERTAINTY in my heart… ‘til we meet again. 🤍🌈

Most times, I still cannot believe it’s been 2.5 years since losing Logan because the physical ache when I think of him is still so visceral. But as I’ve shared in our stories, I don’t mind the pain anymore because I now fully understand that it’s the price we pay for love, and it will likely never go away.

What has made the biggest difference in my journey of grief is feeling… knowing… that I can still be connected with him in another way, and I’ll always be grateful to @henrilefrenchie’s momma for introducing the idea of communicating through signs, and to @lauralynnejackson for the guidance through her book Signs. 🤍✨

Sharing just some of the signs AND GIFTS I believe we have received from Logan in the past 2 and a half years. These are just a few of what can fit here.

But one of the first & best gifts? Losing him on FEB 03, but later on guiding us through so many pups to somehow lead us to Luna (who’s based in another island in the Philippines btw, and had to be flown to Manila!) — who was apparently born on FEB 02, as if making sure we have a reason to stay happy even on his anniv in heaven. 🤍☁️

@thepawsco_ x @awoofi.co 💖🩵

yes, we really bought from both — all the way from Bali & SG, respectively. luna doesn’t hoard accessories at all (except for bell replacements since we haven’t found better quality ones!), so we always choose quality over quantity.

💡: swipe to the last photo! it was @thepawsco_ who printed and handmade our Scarves for @pawssionproject Rescues (“My Dog’s Favorite Things” theme specially designed/gifted by @kpna.rt) 💚😉

A TRIP TO REMEMBER for the water baby, Lolo Shiloh 🩵

A water baby through & through, not once did he walk away from the shore break even on his first try. And he was soooo relaxed in the water that he was LITERALLY ASLEEP 90% of the time he was submerged in water. 🥹

For mobile people like us who cannot easily foster for longer periods, why not give senior rescues A WEEK (or even a weekend like this one!) to remember? ♥️

Just sign up to be part of @pawssionproject’s foster pool (Google Form link in bio). We know the long form can be intimidating, but they also need to ensure their rescues’ safety. 🙏🏼 As with anything new, it’s usually taking the first step that’s critical in getting things going! The experience is worth it.

Let’s make nature trips & the experience of a home possible for senior rescues who may only have this chance EVER!! 💚🩵 What a privilege for us to gift that.
——
*Pawssion’s senior home is in Las Piñas so pick-up/drop-off of dogs for Manila residents is much more doable now (vs Bulacan)

*Pawssion’s rescues are vaccinated & Bravecto-maintained so we weren’t worried about immediate interaction with Luna 😊

*For those worried about the adjustment period at home, BOTH Aling Ynez (fostered for 2 months before finding a furever home) and Lolo Shiloh (stayed with us for a full day and night before our beach day trip) had ZERO pee/poop accidents inside our home (note: Shiloh was on diuretics so he peed a lot)! We just had to pay attention to how they communicate. Make sure they pee several times/poop outside even before bringing them inside, and they somehow got it already. :) by @loganandlunathewelsh
