Every day mummy goes into this strange indoor rain machine she calls a shower and I sit outside and cry for her to come back.

Today she said I could go in.
I thought this was victory.

It was not victory.
It was warm rain.
And I do not like the rain.
I didn’t even have my raincoat on.

Then she added shampoo and I became extremely soapy and extremely betrayed. I squealed throughout so everyone understood the seriousness.

After that I was attacked with a towel, sprayed with detangling stuff, brushed against my will, and then…worst of all; introduced to the hairdryer.

She also trimmed around my eyes so I can apparently “see where I’m going.” Suspicious.

I am now dry and extra floofy.
Mummy is excommunicated.

She did give me treats though, so forgiveness is being considered 😌🐾

1/10. Do not recommend.
Still unclear why she goes in there every day.

Loki vs Oreo: Cheese Tax Edition 🧀🐶

Oreo: waits patiently and accepts a small, reasonable cheese tax like a professional.

Loki: does not wait, does not negotiate, inserts entire head into the cheese.

Oreo: observes this new method, immediately adopts it.

Outcome: chaos, bouncing, spinning, and two very committed cheese tax collectors.

Additional measures: mummy has now had to write “DOGS” on the cheese bag so she doesn’t accidentally eat the cheese we’ve already had our heads in.

Loki may not even be four months old yet, but he is clearly here to disrupt the system 💜

EXCUSE ME. I AM ONE. 🎂💜

Mummy has been neglecting my social media responsibilities lately, but today is far too important for that because Lord Loki of Biteyshire is officially ONE!

Swipe to see baby floof vs one-year-old floof. ➡️🥹

Unfortunately, Mummy has committed her greatest betrayal yet and is in Turkey for my FIRST BIRTHDAY. She says she’s missing me terribly and just wants to give me a huge cuddle.

Personally, I think guilt should translate directly into presents.

Grandma & Grandad took me, Nala & Uncle Kerr to our favourite dog park today, while Oreo is enjoying his own holiday at the kennels. AND Grandma has been dispatched to the butcher because Mummy ordered us STEAK FOR TEA. 🥩

Turning one is excellent.

Next weekend Mummy will be home for my proper party with my friends, doggy birthday cake, presents and a piñata full of toys & treats. 🎂🎁

AND the joiners are currently building The Floof Residence for Oreo, Nala & me: our very own tiny doggy cottage inside Mummy’s new bedroom, with direct access to the bedroom & living room. 👑

Mummy says she can’t believe her baby floof is already one and that I’ve brought more love, laughter & happiness into her life than I’ll ever understand.

She calls me her little soul dog. 💜

I call her the woman who is NOT HERE ON MY BIRTHDAY, so we’ll discuss compensation when she gets home.

Lord Loki of Biteyshire. Aged ONE. Still the baby floof. 💜

Mummy took us to Airborne Forces Day today…

Apparently she wanted to look at military vehicles, meet people and support the event.

What ACTUALLY happened was me and Nala spent the whole day being cuddled by approximately 3,467 children.

I even posed next to a MASSIVE tank. Nala, being the tiny show-off she is, actually climbed onto it. Honestly… she was acting like she’d been promoted to General. 🎖️

Then Nala disappeared because she’d found Paddington Bear. I can’t even blame her… he gives excellent cuddles. 🐻

We also met Pegasus, the regiment’s mascot, who travels all over the country. He’s quite a bit bigger than Oreo… but I still reckon Oreo gives better kisses. 🐴

By the end of the day, Mummy announced she’s considering setting up a cuddle stall at the next event because apparently we’d make her rich.

Excuse me?!

If people are paying for cuddles, I expect payment in cheese, chicken and at least one squeaky toy per customer.

Business is business.

💜 Loki

“IT’S MY BDAY MOTHER PUPPERS!” 🎉

(Yes… my big brother insisted I started with that. 🙄)

Yesterday we celebrated Oreo turning 5 with the BEST doggy birthday party at Pathhead Farm Dog Park. Mummy hired the park for two whole hours once it had cooled down enough for us all to play.

There were zoomies, presents, homemade doggy birthday cake, human birthday cake, party bags shaped like little kennels and LOTS of our favourite humans.

Nala wore her prettiest pink bow, Oreo wore his birthday bandana and, as the distinguished gentleman of the family, I naturally wore my flat cap.

Today is Oreo’s actual birthday and watching him open his presents made my little heart happy. Five years ago, nobody could have imagined that a boy who’d had such a difficult start in life would grow into the happiest, kindest big brother who is surrounded by so much love.

Thank you to Grandma, Grandad, Susan, Jo, Mike, Edwin, Brontë, Kerr and Holly for celebrating with us. A huge thank you as well to Caleb, Emily and Jen for Oreo’s lovely gift, even though you couldn’t make the party. The handmade card made Mummy’s eyes leak a little. 🥹

Every one of you has helped show my big brother that people can be kind, safe and full of love.

Right… enough of the emotional stuff.

There’s still birthday cake left… and I’m fairly sure Oreo isn’t planning on sharing. 🎂

💜 Loki

Mum made one critical mistake…

She let Nala sit on her lap first.

Naturally, I couldn’t allow that.

So I stared at her.

Then I stared some more.

Then I climbed on top of Nala.

Then I took over the entire lap.

What started as “Nala gets cuddles” quickly became “Loki secures prime real estate.”

By the end of the morning:

✔️ Nala had been demoted to secondary lap occupant

✔️ I had secured the premium position

✔️ Mum was completely unable to move

✔️ The kettle boiled and Mum couldn’t even get up to make her cup of tea

✔️ Oreo carried out important garden surveillance duties from a safe distance

Mum witnessed the whole operation and couldn’t do a thing about it.

Some call it being a Velcro dog.

I call it effective management.

Today’s episode of: Mummy accidentally opened a dog bakery…

Mummy got a message from our neighbours asking if their small hoomans, Emily and Caleb, could come round for a play date with me and Nala.

At first it looked like it might not happen because Mummy had weird eye drops at the optician and couldn’t drive for a while. Honestly, the woman spends one afternoon with giant pupils and everything falls apart.

Luckily we got home in time.

And then things got serious.

Mummy decided we were making dog treats.

Now, Mummy has been baking treats for years, so she acts like she’s on some sort of canine baking show. There was measuring, mixing, rolling, cutting and far more supervision than I felt was necessary.

The recipe was sausage and green bean treats.

Emily helped Mummy make the dough and fill the moulds.

Caleb was put in charge of entertaining the quality control department.

That was me, Nala and Oreo.

A very important role.

Someone has to make sure the ingredients are safe.

And the dough.

And the treats before they go in the oven.

And the treats after they come out of the oven.

It’s a tough job, but somebody has to do it.

For reasons I can’t explain, Mummy also insists on making three different sizes:

Big treats for Oreo.

Medium treats for me.

Tiny treats for Nala because apparently she’s the size of a guinea pig.

After they came out of the oven, everyone did a taste test.

Including Emily and Caleb.

And do you know what?

The small hoomans said they were actually quite tasty.

Which is awkward because I thought these were supposed to be exclusive.

Now the treats are heading into the dehydrator overnight so they’ll stay fresh for up to six months.

Six months?!

As if three dogs are going to allow that to happen.

I give them until Tuesday.

If you’d like Mummy’s sausage & green bean dog treat recipe, comment “TREATS” and we’ll send it to you! 💜

🎓 Dear Diary: We Graduated.

Last night Nala and I officially graduated from Little Paws Puppy Class with @scot_paws

I would just like everyone to know that I took my education very seriously. I attended class every week, worked hard, listened carefully and demonstrated excellent snack-locating skills.

Nala’s approach was slightly different.

Nala attended class, ate snacks, made friends and occasionally fell asleep.

In fact, she was so committed to napping that she fell asleep on top of her graduation certificate.

Somehow we both graduated.

Life isn’t fair.

We also celebrated with our puppy friends Olive, Peggy and Peach. Mummy says they’re our “lifelong friends” and has already created a WhatsApp group so the hoomans can organise dog park adventures together.

Honestly, it took approximately three minutes for the mums to become one giant friendship group.

As for me, I am now NINE MONTHS OLD and moving up to Clever Paws.

Apparently I am no longer a tiny puppy.

I disagree with this statement and will continue to demand to be carried when convenient.

Mummy is hoping that one day Nala and I can become Therapets and visit nursing homes, hospitals and schools to spread cuddles and smiles. So this little certificate is actually a pretty big milestone.

I am very proud of us.

Even if one of us slept through parts of the course.

Love,

Professor Loki, Class of 2026 🎓💜

Mummy’s new dining area has a lovely built-in bench.

Apparently it’s for people.

What nobody considered is that the bench has also created a direct route to the dining table for small, determined Shih Tzus.

So naturally, moments after coming in from the garden, I decided to test it.

For science.

Unfortunately, I may have overlooked the fact that I was absolutely covered in mud.

My face was black.

My paws were filthy.

And yet somehow Mummy seemed more concerned about the table than she was impressed by my incredible climbing abilities.

Personally, I think she’s focusing on the wrong achievement.

The important thing here is that I have successfully unlocked a new level of the house.

The dining table.

And now that I know I can get up there…

The possibilities are endless.

The house renovation is nearly finished and there is only one room left to do…

The bedroom 😌🐾

And this is the project we are MOST excited about because it includes something extra special…

Our very own dog nook.

Naturally, when mummy started building the new bedside cabinets, Nala and I offered our assistance.

By “assistance”, I mean I sat directly on the instruction booklet so mummy couldn’t read it and attempted to quality test the screwdriver.

Nala took a slightly different approach.

She located a comfy spot, surrounding herself with cabinet parts and promptly fell asleep.

Honestly, neither of us understands why the project wasn’t progressing faster.

Mummy keeps saying we are “not helping” but I think she is failing to appreciate the importance of morale support and construction supervision.

The bedroom project has only just begun, but our future dog nook is already looking very promising.

The bad news is that mummy has stopped leaving tools unattended.

Apparently I am “not allowed” a screwdriver.

Honestly, health and safety has gone too far.

Love,
Loki 💜

Well.

We have a problem.

A very small problem.

A very fluffy problem.

A very fluffy problem with absolutely no sense of self-preservation.

Nala has learned how to climb Grandma’s stairs.

We don’t have stairs in our cottage, so this discovery occurred while we’ve been staying with Grandma and Grandad’s during the renovations.

Grandma and Grandad were supposed to be puppy-sitting while Mummy was working upstairs.

Everything was fine.

Then suddenly somebody noticed Nala was halfway up the staircase.

Nobody saw her start.

Nobody knows how she got there.

She simply appeared.

Now she has realised that upstairs exists, she has decided it belongs to her.

Unfortunately, she has not yet mastered the journey back down.

So every expedition ends with dramatic squealing until somebody comes to rescue her from the consequences of her own decisions.

The biggest casualty in all of this has been Oreo.

He used to lie upstairs with Mummy so he could enjoy some peace and quiet.

Now if Nala is upstairs, Oreo is downstairs.

I think he’s moved house.

The tiny menace has officially conquered another level.

We are all doomed.
