Lon Retreat has been named as Spa of the Year – Asia & Australia at the World Spa & Wellness Awards 2026 held in London on October 4.

The World Spa and Wellness Awards recognise the very best in the industry, from all corners of the globe to individual spa leaders. Shining a spotlight on businesses and individuals who are pushing boundaries and driving business excellence.

We feel incredibly honoured to receive this award on behalf of our entire Lon team.

We have always focused heavily on the wellbeing of our people, enabling them to carry out their roles with pride and purpose. This, combined with our attention to detail and authentic desire to care, has catapulted our business to the world stage.

We are humbled that our efforts over the past 8 years have culminated in this prestigious, international acknowledgment. Thank you to all those who have reached out over the past few days and your kind words and support. None of this is possible without you.

We are proud to share the news that Lon Retreat has been awarded a Michelin Key in the 2026 Michelin Guide, one of only 21 Australian hotels newly recognised this year.

The Michelin Keys by @michelinguide , introduced to Australia in 2025, are the hotel equivalent of Michelin Stars. Anonymous inspectors assess properties against five criteria: design, quality of service, unique character, value for money, and contribution to the local area. Lon Retreat has been awarded one Michelin Key.

This recognition is extra special for a family-owned small retreat in a small village such as ours and reflects everything our team has built. This award comes at exactly the moment we’re inviting guests to slow down and experience Lon in a more personal way with the launch of our new curated Wellness Retreats in October 2026.

Come slow down & stay with us.

Rather than simply adding pregnancy treatments to a spa package, Lon's was thoughtfully designed around the changes women experience in the third trimester.

Pregnancy-safe treatments. A slower pace built into the schedule, not just offered if you ask. Food that considers what you can and can't have without making a thing of it.

It's the last trip that's just the two of you for a while; we’ll take care of you.

Two huge international honours for @lon_retreat in Point Lonsdale. 🤍

Lon Retreat & Spa has been named Spa of the Year – Asia & Australasia at the 2026 World Spa & Wellness Awards in London.

And there’s more to celebrate. Lon has also received one Michelin Key in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide, recognising exceptional hotel stays. It’s one of just 21 Australian hotels newly awarded a Key this year.

For a family-owned retreat on The Bellarine, these are two incredible achievements and a lovely recognition of the care Rob, Claire and their team have put into Lon over the past eight years.

A big congratulations to the entire Lon team! 👏

If Lon Retreat has been on your list for a while, consider this your sign to book. 🤍

Claire's Grandmother used to say the water on this property was good for what ailed you, long before anyone called it balneotherapy.

The mineral pools run at a temperature that slows you down. Magnesium, potassium, the kind of mineral content that delivers an incredible night’s sleep. Guests notice it in their skin before anything else.

Just you and the water, a radical choice to take your time, unscheduled. by @lon_retreat

A few teams have trusted Lon differently. Not for the usual offsite. For a day that actually slows a group down enough to return to themselves and, as a group, to connect in a way that reunites.

Private dining, the spa on standby, a change of scenery an hour and a half from the office. Time that’s worth its weight.

Enquire about group bookings.
