Looks.ByTobi presents: REFRAMED.

For our engagement photoshoot, I wanted to create a visual story about love, culture, partnership, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 on our own terms. Who decides what is “traditional”? For us, honoring tradition means choosing what we carry forward, making it our own, and having the freedom to reframe the rest.

Partnership at the center. Individuality honored. Bouquet shifted. Flowers given.

Every detail is intentional: from what we wear and carry
to the laces tying it all together.

Our clothing speaks to who we are. Connected through our Black diasporic identities: modern and traditional, distinct yet complementary.

Love, culture, commitment.

Our way.

REFRAMED.

𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘦 — BB40.

It was an honor to celebrate @barbara_bates and the 40 year anniversary of Bates Designs as a Friends of the Legacy partner.

For me, the night represented more than fashion. It was a reminder of what it looks like to build something distinct, stay true to your vision, and create room for others to see what’s possible.

That’s part of what I continue to explore through Looks.ByTobi: especially the way style can communicate before a word is even spoken.

From the looks we wore, to the runway, to the people in the room, the evening was a celebration of more than clothing, but fashion as legacy.

Grateful to have been part of this milestone and even more inspired by what 40 years of vision, resilience, and commitment can become.

Congratulations, Barbara. 💕 by @looks.bytobi

Nature / Nurture Series — Volume IV.

The age-old question:
Is it Nature or Nurture?
For all my believers in Christ…it’s 𝘣𝘰𝘵𝘩.

Your identity is already in Christ (Nature).
And you still have to foster a deep, personal and real relationship with Him (Nurture), in order to fully recognize and walk in your God-given identity.

Do you believe in Him?
If so…walk in it. Wake up to who you are. Shine your light.✨

Nature / Nurture Series — Volume iii.

One glove. White socks. Patent black shoes.
Red. Sequin. Military jackets.

We recognize the pieces instantly.
But what made it 𝘩𝘪𝘮?

Was it the garments—
or his presence and the way he moved in them?

Is style inherent to the garment—
or activated by the moment and the body that carries it?
