Luke's Two Laila's😜🤧💖
.
.
Lorelai is introduced as a young single mother
of a teenage daughter, Rory. Lorelai has a strained relationship with her wealthy parents, Richard
and Emily, after running away as a teen to raise
her daughter alone. Lorelai remains estranged from her parents for many years until the events
of the pilot episode, where she asks her parents for help paying Rory's tuition. Her parents agree, on the condition that she visits them for dinner every Friday.

Rory Gilmore is the only daughter of Lorelai Gilmore and the first-born daughter of Christopher Hayden. She was born October 8, 1984, in Hartford, Connecticut, at 4:03 am. Every year at that exact time, Lorelai wakes Rory to tell her the story of her birth. Because Lorelai gave birth to Rory when she was only sixteen, the two are more like friends than mother and daughter. Rory shares her mother's taste in junk food, coffee, movies, music, and much more.

Luke is Stars Hollow's local diner owner. He has lived in Stars Hollow his entire life, and his dad's hardware store (William's Hardware, in the middle of town) became his diner after his dad passed away. While his father was heavily involved in town events, Luke has resisted all of them, including most Town Meetings and the War Re-enactments. Though Luke expresses animosity towards town events, it is evident that he cares for the town and never has huge ambitions to leave. When Richard Gilmore attempts to have Luke open up a whole chain of Luke's Diners, Luke respectfully declines as he has no interest in becoming a business magnate. This small-town feeling that he cherishes directly correlates to his failed relationship with Rachel.

Lost Potential and My Roman Empire🥹😭💖
.
.
Lauren Graham and Matthew Perry shared a decades-long close friendship and an on-and-off romantic "almost" dynamic rather than a formal relationship. The two met at an event in the early 2000s and later co-starred in the 2008 movie Birds of America. Graham also guest-starred on Perry's show The Odd Couple.

During her 2024 book tour for Have I Told You This Already?, Graham clarified that while they were never technically romantic partners, he was a constant presence who repeatedly drifted in and out of her life over the years. Months before his passing, Perry reconnected with Graham and gave her a pickleball set for her birthday accompanied by a card that read, "Be older".

Following Perry's death on October 28, 2023, Graham spoke publicly about the profound loss, describing him as someone who made her laugh to the point of tears and noting how happy he seemed during their final reconnection.
