Why does it take so long to edit such a short video? 😂
Last year I started working on these illustrations for the @californiabotanicgarden’s new signage!
They were printed and installed this year and last month I was finally able to go see them in person!!!
I can’t thank them enough for giving me this amazing opportunity. I loved every second of working on these illustrations, not only did I get to illustrate a lot of plants, but I also illustrated some insects! My second favorite thing in the world! 🌸🌿🦋🪲
If you haven’t had a chance to visit CALBG don’t hesitate on stopping by. It is the largest botanic garden in California dedicated to native plants through conservation, research and horticulture.

I’m holding in my hands the Arizona Native Plant Society Plant Press, and I’m delighted to share that they included some of my illustrations in this edition! I am beyond excited to finally see the physical publication with my illustrations in it! The Plant Press can be found online at the AZNPS website and it’s free to read, but you can get a physical copy by joining this amazing organization. They have a yearly fee (which is very accessible) and depending on where in Arizona you are, there are different loca chapters with activities and meetings for plant lovers. I’ve met some wonderful people since I joined 🥰🌵

🌱Nuevas Calcomanías Botánicas!!! 🌱

Gallitos, girasol, salvia, maderista. .

Comenta y vota, tenemos 10 especies!! Cuáles te gustan y adivina cuales son las otras 5 disponibles!!!

I did a little activity booklet about native pollinators 🦋🐝🦇🌸
I am trying to develop educational material for kids about the Sonoran Desert. In this booklet there is a sticker sheet with illustrations of different types of pollinators that have to placed on the dotted lines where the shapes match. I am really proud of this little project and I really hope I can help some kids learn about all the awesome native pollinators

I have been getting bad at posting the things I’m doing. So here’s a month old picture of my table at the Southern California Botanists Conference in Claremont.
I was caught daydreaming in the job!
This time besides my botanical illustrations I also brought some different things I’ve been working on. Necklaces, frames, glass domes, etc.

Thank you all so much for your kind words!! This was a very rewarding project to work on. I hope that you get the chance to see them at the garden 😁 the California Botanic Garden is a beautiful place and there are different blooms you can see throughout the year.

I have a little surprise for tomorrow by @louise.fleurs

I had stopped painting for almost a year. I just didn’t feel motivated and I was also feeling burned out from last year. I did so many thing that I just wanted to take it easy for a bit, but that bit turned out to be a while. Now I’m “forcing” me to go back to painting. And I think I am ready, I feel like I enjoy it again, but I’m still not painting as many hours as I used to, and it’s okay.

Yesterday I was drawing a couple pictures I had saved in my computer of art from other artists I liked, I was feeling pretty rusty when I was trying to get the face anatomy right and realized that I haven’t done anything of the things I used to like to draw. I don’t know when was the last time I drew a person for one of my pieces, but, I’m okay with that. I do miss doing what I used to like, but now I feel a different drive and I am so happy illustrating plants and animals. I feel very passionate about the natural world and I really want everyone else to see how wonderful and exceptional a tint insect, or an inconspicuous plant can be.
So, for the past few years, my art looks like what’s on the table right now.

Hi again, I’m trying to catch up with all that I’ve been working but I always neglect this platform. I really, really dislike using social media but unfortunately there are no alternatives.
Anyways, remember the mural I proposed that got rejected? Here’s the sketch from one of two I sent. I really wanted to see it come to life, but maybe someday, somewhere else.
One sketch was for daytime and this one is for nighttime. It features the interaction of a couple of nocturnal pollinators.

I have not had a quiet morning in a long time. I am finally catching up with some commissions and projects, but also trying to leave some time for my hobbies.
