📢🌐 Join us for our next speaker event on the 12th November 'The Precariat and the Commons: Transformative Green Economics' with Guy Standing in collaboration with the LSE Inequalities Institute!

This presentation will highlight the precariat, recognising that a progressive transformation past rentier capitalism and growing inequality must reflect the needs and aspirations of the emerging ‘working class’, the precariat is suffering from chronic uncertainty, time inequality and insecurity inequality.

🌱🏛 Standing will propose that a Green transformation must depend on reviving the commons, which Labour and other parties neglect, including the blue commons and the education commons. Finally, he will claim that an eco-fiscal policy coupled with Common Dividends should define today’s Green economics.

Guy Standing is an economist based at SOAS University of London, where he is a Professorial Research Associate, Guy Standing previously directed a programme at the International Labour Organization and was a professor at Bath and Monash universities. He co-founded the Basic Income Earth Network (BIEN) and serves as its co-president. He is best known for The Precariat: The New Dangerous Class, which has appeared in 24 languages, and his newest book is Human Capital: The Tragedy of the Education Commons (Pelican, 2026).

Still not sure how to vote today?

A vote for Zack is a vote for more affordable housing and real climate action. If elected Zack will hold the Labour government to account inside Parliament and push them to be more ambitious on issues that affect our daily lives. Another Labour back bencher will change nothing. If you're voting today, vote Green, for real hope and real change💚🗳.

Tomorrow the people of Holborn & St Pancras have a choice: more of the same, or a vote for real change.

Another Labour MP in a constituency with a Labour council & mayor, in a country with a Labour Government - or someone who will hold that Government accountable and demand better not just for residents of the constituency, but for everyone in the UK.

If you want to see real change win, a Green win, and the first Green MP for London, join us in the final day of the campaign. We need leafletters, we need doorknockers, we need phonebankers - we need you 🫵💚! Join hundreds of Greens in pushing this campaign over the line! by @lsesugreens

Scared about the climate? Us too!

Just a few months ago hundreds of wildfires were burning across the UK and thousands of people died from excess heat. + our Summer of record temperatures has made the country more vulnerable to flooding this Winter.

We urgently need more Green MPs to push for stronger climate action in Parliament.

There are only 2 days until the Holborn & St Pancras byelection, check out the link our bio to find out how you can help get another Green MP in Westminster!!! by @lsesugreens
