first rule of ig, never waste your pics 🌟 P.S I took these pics three months ago at my birthday which was also the day we soft launched Beam to the world! fast forward to today, we’ve made so much progress stengthening our company brand position as a creative, cool VSCO alternative that makes you feel inspired (and not a random, low quality, spam/ finsta app) it’s also crazy that over 34,000 pics (YES THIRTY FOUR THOUSAND!!!) have already been shared on Beam, we’re seeing so much creativity from room tours to summer recaps, study abroad to homemade recipes and so much more && all from your camera roll. Seeing real pictures, no editing, no text on screen, just pics from your phone that you took and haven’t shared anywhere has been so rewarding and energizing. As always though, thank you guys for being here and watching the chaotic journey of building this company and I can’t wait to show you guys what’s next <3 📸: @picsbyjiho by @lsunxo

found this pic on beam from this past March… so crazy because we were in sf at this time and had 48 hours to decide if we should keep building our list app or pivot from the progress we had already made and take a chance on something new, starting from scratch and pretty much zero again, I was still on the fence. so much unknown, no product, no name, no users, no brand, literally nothing except a vision for all the photos in our camera roll I was meeting up with christina for dinner and we got there a bit early so we walked up and down the hill, all of a sudden I saw this frozen yogurt shop in front of us genuinely I couldn’t believe my eyes bc my very first app name was Breezi and the tagline was easy breezi, I know copywriting isn’t my strong suit but I liked it, it represented how I wanted social products to feel: light, happy, inspiring, creative and fun, obviously I’m happy we ended up changing the name but easy breezi always had a piece of my heart and represented my original vision for what I wanted to create for the world so as I walked past this sign, it felt like a sign from the universe reminding me that it’s not about ‘sunk cost’, or being a successful startup founder, or what others might think if I made one decision or another — it’s simply about the mission and creating the most positive impact … even if that means starting over still to this day, easy breezi means making something beautiful, delightful, creative and inspiring to help people share more of their own lives and I just can’t believe I saw it on a random froyo shop !!!!!!!! by @lsunxo
my formal application to go from list girl to photo girl 🪩🧚‍♀️ the spaces we have to show off our personality and interests are not just getting smaller BUT DISAPPEARING … genuinely not sure why all the new photo apps that come out are only for your close friends? and how come words like curation and creativity have been replaced with ‘BeReal’ and private? Bring back sharing pictures that you LOVE!!!! AND HAVE FUN DOING IT!!! by @lsunxo
A little reintroduction 🤍 What started as documenting an idea post horrendous breakup (+ unfortunate unemployment), one tiktok at a time, turned into a career that connected all the dots for me. It took me a second to come to terms that the original idea for a new app wasn’t going to be the thing that gave me the outcome I wanted. But that experience opened so many doors: a company I started, cofounder, investors, team and thousands of people following this journey online and in person. From there, it’s been a snowball of pivots and new chapters … college tours, brand campaigns, moving to nyc and now Beam (@beam.roll @findmeonbeam). Still evolving, still learning and still freaking obsessed with building something that changes the world. If you’re new here, I’m so glad you’re here. And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for growing with me 🌟😌 by @lsunxo
so a few weeks ago we said we weren’t going to do anything for launch because we wanted to get our app out as soon as possible and get it in people’s hands but this past thursday we felt like it would be a disservice to not tell the story of why beam had to exist in some way soooooo now here we are 🤭🌟 #dayinthelife #founder #startup #marketing by @lsunxo
