🏆 Australian Fashion Industry Awards ✨ Marketing Campaign of the Year ✨ Awarded to SABAs ‘60 years of style that lasts’ Super proud of this one. 🖤 Joe Saba is an icon. A giant of our industry. The man credited with ‘teaching Australians how to wear black’. He sold the business in 2002 and hasn’t been involved since. In our 60th year, we brought him back. It started with Joe and Marita Saba welcoming me into their home, going through 60 years of archives and stories, and became a celebration of SABA’s history, its people and what the brand stands for today. We digitised 600 items from Joes personal collection and then donated them to the State Library Victoria to be preserved for future generations. We created a retrospective film showcasing the archives and activated installations in all 21 of our stores. And now, in a beautiful full-circle moment, we’ve returned to Joe’s hometown of Geelong, reigniting SABA’s relationship with the @geelongcats 26 years after Joe first sent Cats players down the runway, with SABA now proudly partnering with the AFLW team. To see it recognised by the industry is incredibly special. So proud of our team and everyone who brought this to life, and very grateful to Joe and Marita for trusting us with such an important part of their legacy. 60 years of SABA. Here’s to what comes next. 🖤 by @lucindagrice

No one builds a (successful) brand alone. Over fifteen years, there were countless people who helped shape the Samantha Wills Jewellery story. @LucindaGrice was one of them. As General Manager , she played a significant role in helping guide the business (and myself) through some of its biggest years of growth, and this conversation is a reflection on that chapter. Together, we talk about the tension between creativity and commerce, the mistake that nearly derailed the brand, the role intuition played in some of the biggest decisions of my career, and the often unseen realities of building something that lasts. If you’ve ever wondered what happens behind the scenes of a successful brand - or how creativity and commerciality coexists - this conversation is for you. WATCH THE FULL FILM (free) on Substack.
