💙 Writing sweet, clean YA fantasy with adventure, magic, friendship and love. 💙

POSTS STORIES REELS

Hi, I'm Lucy Winton and I write YA fantasy.

About my books:
💙 I write stories with adventure and magic, with characters becoming who they are in unusual worlds.
💙 You can find fairytale retellings, original fantasy and urban fantasy.
💙 Even if the characters don't always feel safe, YOU are. There's no spice or swearing in these tales.
💙 But there might be some swoonworthy moments. Just saying.

About me:
💜 I live in the UK, in a beautiful riverside town.
💜 I'm a Ravenclaw.
💜 My favourite foods are carbonara and cookies.
💜 My favourite fruit is cherries.
💜 I'm a 9 on the Enneagram.

That's enough about me. Why not introduce yourself in the comments? I'd love to meet you!

This story is best read at night, with moonlight shining outside. These quotes should show you why.

I wasn't planning to write as much as I did yesterday, but that's the first chapter done!

I'm taking on the Novel November challenge! The novel in question is an autumn-themed fairytale retelling. I'm not going to give away too many details (you'll have to wait until next year for that 😊) but I will say that it has a lot of cosy vibes.

The plan isn't necessarily to write 50,000 words (although that would be a bonus!) but it will be to complete the first draft. I will keep you updated on how it's going through November.

Here's the first line from "A Gift of Silver Stars":

Elina couldn't stop staring out of the window.

Want some festive ARCs? You can get 12 Christmas fantasy novelettes with very different vibes. They're all inspired by one of the 12 days of Christmas and reading them should feel like opening a small Advent calendar.

Interested? The link is in my bio.

Meet Sir Lysander from "A Gift of Silver Stars".

Star Knight Lysander is honoured to be not just one of King Elarion's most trusted knights, but also one of his most trusted friends. When he's asked to be the personal guard of a visiting diplomat's daughter, he agrees without hesitation.

Lysander has always loved the Midwinter Festival, and he has a feeling this one will be one to remember. He just can't seem to get the lovely Lady Elina out of his head...

Meet Elina Asterin from "A Gift of Silver Stars".

The best three words to describe Elina are adventurous, friendly and curious. She's excited to be accompanying her father on a diplomatic trip to the kingdom of Lyrenia, and can't wait to experience the Midwinter Festival in a whole new way.

But if the secret she's keeping gets out, it could spell disaster for not just herself but her family as well...

Here are some tropes for A Gift of Silver Stars!

Elina is accompanying her father as part of a semi-diplomatic mission to another kingdom. She wasn't expecting to have a magical personal guard assigned to her as part of the visit, even if it was done by the king himself.

She's trying to keep a secret but the stars might have other plans...

I’m a huge fan of Regency novels, so it’s fun to imagine the leaping lords and dancing ladies of these next two stories in our cover reveals! I love the contrast between the cool of Lucy’s star bauble and the heat of Cortney’s flame bauble! by @lucywintonauthor
