“Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you’ve lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that’s good.” – Elizabeth Edwards. by @luis.piubjj

Good gracious, what a match! Joshua Ames set the tone in this match, explosive and precise. Ended with an efficient foot lock!

KORA
The People. The Process. The Progress.

The Ensō circle represents endless growth. The two koi symbolize perseverance, transformation, and growing together, while black and white reflect balance.

That belief in growing together connects Kora and Dream Guard Project. We share a commitment to supporting young athletes, building confidence, and helping them grow as people, on and off the mats.

A shared journey. A community growing together. 🖤🤍 by @luis.piubjj

Earned my brown belt today after 6 years as a purple belt! It was a journey. A journey that involved family and a jiu jitsu community that has been extremely supportive. A wife @clarissamagallanez that has always pushed me to continue to work towards getting this brown belt. Prior to having kids I trained everyday, sometimes multiple times a day. We had Rener and I stopped training. Got back to training. Had Lenny, stopped training. Got back to training. Professor @piu.bjj never stopped checking on me making sure I got back on the mats. Two years ago i was able to start training consistently alongside Professor @luis.piubjj and the team at @gbahwatukee72. And today i am extremely grateful my family and both my professors were there to promote me to brown belt. The last picture represents a new chapter for our team, Kora Jiu Jitsu. We are happy to continue to train alongside these communities we are fortunate to be apart. by @luis.piubjj
