march 2 — the day I have dreamed of since I was itty bitty — our wedding day 🫶🏼 I told Miller in his letter that I walked down the same aisle to commit my life to Christ & it was truly an honor to get to walk the same aisle to confess my adoration of & commitment to him in marriage. I know the Lord will reveal himself in entirely new ways to us through this covenant to each other & I pray that we remember our love for one another is perfected in Christ. huge thank you to @faithmomentsphotography_ @johnmarkenterprises @oliviaelisecreative @spencersipe , Bob Hampton, Traci Johnson, both of our families & every single person who came to celebrate with us last night. If I didn’t get to say hello, this is my sincere hi & thank you for making our day the best ever 💍🥂🖤 by @lululemma_
this is not the post I was wanting to make, but I’m finding the joy anyways! I still think about Sunday & get a little teary thinking how the race ended. I have replayed the days leading up to the starting line and each mile of the race over & over & over again. I don’t have an answer for why my legs gave up on me, but I do know that I gave my first world major everything I had (& maybe a little too much 🙃). I’ve run so so many miles over these last few months, & the last 7 miles should have been easy. Looking back at these pictures, I feel a sense of failure and defeat, but I know deep down, there is SO. MUCH. GOOD. to take away from last weekend. I got to explore Chicago, spend quality time catching up with some sweet memphis friends (@julianne_sunshine @brennarae_c @hellojoshclark @baileycclark & @1jordancarpenter) & had the best support squad a girl could ask for 🥹. &&& I got to start my first world major marathon, listen to the voices of so so many loved ones cheer me on thanks to @runwithrally, PR my half marathon, and run until I physically couldn’t run anymore. The marathon is humbling & hard & sometimes makes me wonder why I think it’s the most fun & exhilarating thing in the world. I know what I am capable of & it just wasn’t my day. I’m tempted to dwell on the negatives of this race, but I would rather look back at this training block & see how far I have come. I know I have my goal time in me & with time & patience & setbacks like these that make me stronger, I will have a medal to prove it. I am blessed to still get to run & do what I love & feel the Lord’s pleasure — medal or not. I am impressed by so many people who ran on Sunday whether they crushed their goal time, fought to just finish, or held on until they couldn’t go one more step. Chicago hasn’t seen the last of me, but for now, onto @indymonumental with @kenseymac & @emily.davis28 in just a few weeks! & then I’ll officially be running my first Boston marathon in April! 💙💛 by @lululemma_

greece, you were everything & more💌☕️🍾🧿🪭🇬🇷 I didn’t think pictures would do it justice, but @miller_pelton captured it all perfectly🥹 by @lululemma_
the past month(ish) has been sooooo good to me !!! got to see my girlies in Colorado, cheered @blakebargar12 on at the Chicago marathon, got to celebrate the marriage of sweet friends & spend 12ish hours with some of my dearest friends from mem, & ran the marine corps marathon to kick off @kenseymac ‘s birthday week &&&&& qualified for Boston 2027 with an official time of 3:16:15 ——— I signed up for this race coming off of some health complications & gallbladder surgery after about three years of random pain with no answers. I didn’t know if running was something that I had to say goodbye to forever bc it seemed to make the pain worse. I met @kenseymac & @ellamaggio33 around the time when all this was going on & we started running together. When they signed up for the Marine Corps Marathon, I just hopped on the bandwagon with the goal of running a sub-4 marathon. Throughout training, I knew we were going to crush that goal & I had such a desire to qualify for Boston again since I didn’t get to compete in 2020 or 2021. I didn’t think that MCM was going to be that race, so towards the end of training I decided to set my goal around 3:30 & train for the Carmel marathon in April to BQ. I don’t have words really for what happened yesterday, but all glory be to God for setting the pace & allowing me to just hold on. I’m grateful for running & the ability to do what I love again for as long as the Lord allows me. I won’t ever take that for granted. It’s just running, but it’s also so much more. It’s joy & peace & pain all at once & I know I’m crazy but I love it. Congrats to @kenseymac, @ellamaggio33 (who also just completed her first Ironman 4 weeks ago) & @ry.mcmahon for absolutely crushing it !!! &&& big shoutout to @miller_pelton for being my biggest supporter throughout all of this ilysm !! Now time to finish out celebrating @kenseymac ‘s birthday week !!! 🫶🏼🥳 by @lululemma_

somehow, this feels like it was 5 days ago & 5 years ago at the same time. in sickness might be the theme of this first year of marriage, but in health is coming !! we have walked through more than I could have imagined in this first year, but I’m so thankful that God allowed me to walk through this life with you, @miller_pelton.
