did a bit of work on this gorgeous 60s philips philicorda organ last month for @chrisboot / @notparamount. fixed a few keys that weren’t sounding in the lower octaves by cleaning and straightening some of the key contacts, and added an input straight to the built in spring reverb so it can be used as a standalone outboard reverb, sounded amazing!

also just a lovely bit of furniture to have sitting in my flat 😍

nice and easy switch replacement on this strymon el capistan. really well designed and built pedal, they sure cram a lot into these!

luckily all that was needed to get this xotic effect AC booster back into tip top shape was a switch replacement. not a fan of all the goop which makes it basically impossible to diagnose and fix any issues with the actual circuit. electronics shouldn’t be disposable items..

gave it a good clean up, reflowed the jack sockets for good measure, tested thoroughly using professional equipment and returned to another happy customer!

hit me up for musical equipment repair for reasonable prices 🎛🔧

roland spd-sx repaired/serviced for the lovely @limegardenband. suffered from a dodgy power button that wouldn’t always turn on. fairly simple fix by cleaning off some corrosion / random gunk from the gold plated pads of the button matrix, went ahead and cleaned all the other buttons just in case. this thing was crazy inside though, super tightly packed, multiple surface mount pcbs and tonnes of ribbon cables / board connections which meant getting to the actual button board was quite a task.

getting my powder coating setup was a game
changer, was struggling to get a decent enough finish using spray paint - multiple coats over multiple days and one bit of fluff would ruin it all.

pretty high initial cost since you need a compressor and oven but in my opinion fully worth it! went for a small oven and compressor (you really don’t need much capacity/cfm) but didn’t skimp on the powder coating system and couldn’t recommend the @eastwoodco hot coat system enough, i was getting amazing results straight out the box on the first day.

was a bit nervous about spending all that money and not achieving the results i was hoping for, but honestly couldn’t be happier and think powder coating is such a step up from standard paint finishes, and amazing results can be achieved even at the DIY/hobbyist level with pretty basic equipment.

spent a lot of time figuring out the best way to hold the parts easily while keeping everything clean with solid grounding and ended up making some custom mounts that snap into a base attached to the rack. super happy with how they turned out and have made the whole process a whole lot easier.

need something powder coated? get in touch!

drilling the classic hammond 1590b for a customer, first time using a stepped drill bit and im very impressed even with this cheap set i picked up, they cut through this cast aluminium like nothing and left super clean holes despite the horrendous amount of play in this super old drill press.

also picked up one of those cool little de-burring tools which does a great job and can be used to give a lovely chamfer, just know it’s going to come in handy lots in the future.

got some larger scotch brite wheels to help with surface cleanup and power coat prep without having to do it by hand. this one’s getting a black powder coat but now im in love with the raw brushes finish.

powder coating vid coming soon, hit me up if you need pedal
enclosures drilling, powder coating and / or laser engraved to bring your DIY project to the next level 💫

been very quiet recently but been putting in a lot of time and development really trying to nail the processes and workflow in making my custom pedal enclosures. been a very long process learning every step of the process from scratch but i feel like im at a point now where they’re all coming out to a standard im extremely happy with!

here’s part one showing the cnc workflow, cutting out the holes and profiles on some 1mm aluminium sheet. really enjoyed making this video and intend to do a deep dive on every aspect of production at some point. i struggled to find relevant information for lots of things when i first started out so definitely would love to share my experiences.

part 2 coming next showing how i go from flat sheet to full enclosures

nothing better than a clean breadboard after a project is done 🤌 something about ripping everything off is just so satisfying, wiping the slate clean and welcoming the next adventure/headache..

got a couple of things i want to tackle next, will probably start by chipping away at the poly synth project - will do a full post about that soon - but first time for me to spend all night sorting through this absolute mess of components and putting them in their proper homes.

also just wanted to show off my breadboard holder/case/thing, featuring plentiful breadboard space, separate power supply section, component storage pockets and a handy lid to take it on the go!

dm me if you might like me to build one of these for you! by @lv_labs_

first up; really simple true bypass loop switcher made for alex @ @barefacedaudio - 3 loops of true bypass with indicator LEDs and a d.i/tuner out. had fun creating the stomp plates on the CNC, still experimenting with the v-bit engraving but still always amazed how cool it looks!

hit me up if you want me to build you one, any number of loops, true bypass or buffered, relay switching, input / output buffers, momentary switch options and many more.. work with me to get the exact pedal you want ! by @lv_labs_

welcome to LV-LABS. my name is luke and this is my lab. it’s about time i start taking this stuff seriously, so here i am, making this a thing.

been sitting on so many ideas for so long, so many late nights spent learning and tinkering, and i have some really cool ideas that i think people would like! i am a musician first, so the heart of what i do is creating products that solve problems and allow musicians to think less about the tech and more about creating music.

in the near future i will be posting about some of the things i’m doing, things i’ve done and things i’m learning how to do, as well as some more info about the first products i will be releasing by @lv_labs_
