Wow what an honor!! I’m beyond excited and so honored to be the 2026 IBMA Momentum Vocalist of the Year! So many people deserve recognition for supporting me along this journey. There’s far too many to list, so I’ll just say I’m so grateful to have the best community around me! I’ve been a Dolly fan since my Dollywood season passholder days as child. Later, as I studied Appalachia and its music and culture, I developed a deeper appreciation for her music, and for the messages she shared. She opened doors for artists, education, community, and her music has been the soundtrack to many moments in my life. I remember hearing Dolly’s “Once Upon a Christmas” in the back of my mom’s Honda Pilot every December in elementary school. I watched “Dumplin” with my friends in high school and then had “Two Doors Down” on repeat for weeks after I got my license. I sang “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” with my band at both of my college graduations. “Tennessee Mountain Home” was the first song I played and sang on my porch after buying my house here. The “Trio” album with Dolly, Emmylou, and Linda was a common soundtrack in the background as I wrote my master’s thesis. I signed my first record deal while doing a Dollywood residency, at a studio where Dolly has recorded. I’m sure many others have similar connections to the things she shared with the world. Dolly was an inspiration and an icon, and she leaves behind an incredible legacy. #dollyparton #girlmash #countrymusic #bluegrass #tennessee // @gravyrecordsofficial by @lydia.hamby
I’ve been on a big Lee Ann Womack kick lately so here’s a little of “Either Way.” P.s. I’m proud of myself for picking out this guitar part all by myself so everyone be nice even though it isn’t perfect😁 @gravyrecordsofficial || #gravyrecords #lydiahambymusic #bluegrass #countrymusic by @lydia.hamby
