🚫📸 NO CAMERAS ALLOWED! It was an intimate affair of laughter, music and community when the Lyrics4Life team met with some heavy hitters in Ottawa's music industry last night. Luckily for us, they are also part of the L4L SEASON ONE family of curators, musicians and advisors for our Songwriting Competition & Live Awards Show! Decades of music experience and expertise sat around one fire table on a cool fall evening discussing the many challenges facing songwriters today. Their insight, while we steamroll ahead towards our very first live awards show in February'27, is immeasurable. With "no media allowed", the only guests we have photos of are the oysters and the cheese! 😄 A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us ❤️ Erin Benjamin Tara Shannon Shannon Murray Colin Mills Tony Dunn Jessy Lindsay Bruno Racine John Brooman Melanie Brule 📸 @thereelshot.ca by @lyrics4lifeottawa
"Let's try not to cry this time!" 😄 It's always a bit emotional ❤️ when Lyrics4Life founder Craig Ogden reunites with Shannon Murray, president of The Audio Recording Academy (T.A.R.A.) and Raven Street Studio, to share stories of the past. Learning about the history of the studio, the importance of T.A.R.A. in Ottawa's music community, and the kind of relationships Shannon builds with her students, it's hard not to get a little misty eyed by the passion. SOUNDBITES from the STUDIO: "My Dad's Second Act"; Shannon tells the story of how the evolution of Raven Street Studio helped shape her career. We're so proud to have T.A.R.A. and Raven Street Studio as a beneficiary for SEASON ONE of the Lyrics4Life Songwriting Competition and we can't wait to share more of their story. Bigs thanks to Shannon and our Musical Director @mattsobb9 for granting us time and access in the studio on such a busy day. @ravenstreet.tara Stay looped for more insight from this Ottawa music legend! 📸 @thereelshot.ca #canadiansongwriter #ottawamusic #canadianmusic #ottawamusician #ottawamusicscene by @lyrics4lifeottawa
