From dreaming of working at Apple to building a beauty brand across multiple markets, Victorine’s journey is anything but conventional. She left corporate life to build Lyvv Cosmetics, a brand rooted in a deeply personal mission: helping people love the skin they’re in. A mission shaped by years of experiencing colourism and being made to feel that her complexion was something to apologise for. But building the business came with its own challenges. Two years and five months before seeing cash come in. Nine years of bootstrapping before raising $1 million. Rejections, difficult decisions, and the realities of building a company that now operates across multiple markets. In this conversation, Victorine opens up about betting on herself when others didn’t believe in her, the realities of fundraising, building the right team and systems, and the responsibility that comes with being a pioneer. It’s a conversation about purpose, resilience, ambition, and what it really takes to build something that lasts. Watch the full episode on YouTube. Link in bio. by @lyvvcosmetics
