On Sunday I crossed over into my 30th year ☀️ spent the weekend enjoying the last Friday night of my 20s and on the day of got a full body massage before dinner. I am so, so content and proud of the person I've become and every lane I've made for myself in this last decade. Every retail job I bounced off of til a better one came along, every internship with the brands I admired cause I wanted to be part of the process, every event I threw and collaborated with so artists like me know that space will be made for them, every friend I laughed, cried, partied and parted ways with, and every room I made a sanctuary in until I signed my first lease. I am so grateful to have made it here and for everyone who has supported me to get here. I am excited for the years to come and what my life looks like as it continues to evolve! Here's to the big 3-0🥂🥰 Photos taken by the legendary @prettymintyfresh ! 🐐❤️‍🔥 by @m1cka1a
Leo season is here, finally 🥴♌️ This year so far has been nothing short of little miracles and another round of re-certification as God's strongest soldier lmao. Bday is in less than 2 weeks and I'm excited af, everything really has come together for me to celebrate this milestone. Can't wait to end the summer off continuing to do everything I want! 🦁❤️‍🔥 by @m1cka1a
A year ago I started watching "Interview With The Vampire" and it has become one of my favorite shows. The first two seasons have been so under-marketed but have been some of the best acting/writing I've seen in so long. It made me get into the work of Anne Rice and the Vampire Chronicles series. Reading The Vampire Lestat I thought it'd be so cool if they did a live concert and for it to actually come to fruition makes me so happy. This was so well organized by @1iota and I can say from experience this was for the fans (as I'm seeing a lot of ppl say it was only for influencers smh 🙄) @amcsannerice Fangsss for the memories ❤️🩸💋One of the funnest nights I've had to start my summer off. I can't wait to see the premiere of The Vampire Lestat tonight! by @m1cka1a
On Tuesday, March 10th my father took his final breath before ascending into heaven. I can't put into words how much this hurts right now. Dad, thank you for 29 years of love and support. Thank you for all the moments you showed up for me in the best ways you could. Thank you for the extended family you gave me that is holding me up as we hold each other up at this time. Thank you for the bike that kept me afloat all through 2020. Thank you for all the DJ sets you've played with such pride throughout your life. Thank you for showing your vegetable garden and reminding me how important it is to be self sufficient during quarantine. Thank you for the all the chicken you'd cook on that giant grill and flip with your bare hands. Thank you for all the times you'd call to invite me over to just relax and be with the family. Thank you for reminding me that I need to make time. Thank you for being my father and I'll always cherish the memories of having you in my life. Thank you for all that you've done in my life dad and as me and the others celebrate your life today I hope you watch over us in heaven as we try our best to keep going. I love you and always will, and I know you're finally getting the rest you've always deserved. Sleep peacefully Micheal "Jimmy" Thomas, you have been the strongest soldier in so many lives including mine 🙏🏾🤍 by @m1cka1a
This is kinda late but yall, it’s been a hell of a year 🙂‍↕️ 2025 was a life-changing. I took as many opportunities as I can and looked good af while doing it. Celebrating my 3rd art show made me reflect on how far I’ve come to do these things for myself. Leaving the admin asst. job I’ve been working at for the last 3 years was genuinely the best thing to ever happen to me. To work in early-childhood education was healing, and I’ll never forget the little ones who I’ve helped set up their first art/sensory development class. Rejection is the best redirection! I currently did not expect to find myself in the fitness sector but now I’m on the way to becoming a pilates princesa and I love it here lol Summer 2025 was free pool parties, good eats, a lot of azz being thrown back and the best birthday ever 🎂 my 20s are going out real strong on the last lap Moving into my first apartment after 8 years of living with roommates was an unexpected blessing. God was my realtor 🙏🏾 one day I’ll write a book with all my crazy housing stories cause living on your own in NYC is not for the weak smh Shot a fashion show in an indoor skate park rave! Thank you @d__mills and your team for having me! And lastly, having my photography featured in an all Black women exhibit was the perfect way to end the year. It really can get hard to make the time to do the things you love but I’m happy I tried my best to make that time. Thank you to all my family and friends who have continued to love and support me! 🤍🤍 Happy New Year! I hope these next 365 days are filled with kindness, compassion and strength 💪🏾💫 by @m1cka1a
These last two nights have been incredible, I am both humbled and affirmed in my craft as a multi-media artist and so, so honored to have my photography featured as part of @monadnyc ‘s exhibit. Thank you to everyone who came and everyone up showed me love! ❤️ Eternal gratitude to @icytraore @ricatherose @shotbysolace and @yaz.so.mean for your patience and creativity! I really could not have done it without yall 🫶🏾🤎 by @m1cka1a
“Portraits Of A Fairy” with @ricatherose and @icytraore on display tonight for @monadnyc 🤍 My favorite part of putting a shoot together will always be the BTS lol thank you again @shotbysolace And a big thank you to the big homie @yaz.so.mean for the assistance on set ! See you all tonight & tomorrow ✨ by @m1cka1a
Hey 👋🏾🥰 Tomorrow (11/20) will be the first exhibit I’ve ever showcased my photography, and of course it’s gotta be with @monadnyc who’ve been highlighting literally hundreds of Black multi-media artists over the past year. I’m so honored to have my work presented alongside so many talented Black women/femme photographers and filmmakers! It’s about to be a night to remember fr. I actually decided to create a new shoot for the exhibit so I’m hype af to reveal it ✨ see you all tomorrow and Friday :) #tb photo of @fkaprophet in a custom ski mask created by me ! by @m1cka1a
