For all those who have worked with M4, and for all those yet to come. Let's keep creating beautifully and regeneratively.

We believe in using every passionate measure to protect Mother Earth - taking consistent and conscious action to sustain and nurture the positive use of raw materials and resins.

We also believe that there’s beauty in plastic that needs to be honored and appreciated in a responsible fashion by recycling, regrinding, and reusing in the most optimal way, as seen here in our Material Library.

CAZIMI +1. The factory asked so much of me. What it taught me most was to stay soft in a space and world that so often asks us to harden. To keep bringing beauty into places not always designed to hold it. To see the people within the systems, the possibility within the pressure, and the craftsmanship within the work. To honor the creative process, and the process itself, the becoming is everything. On this day last year, on the cazimi, the Factory sale and my Factory transmission was complete. I miss my factory team, the magic of what we were building together and the culture it created, I miss the hum of machines, and the smell of new biomaterials in creation. I miss watching the design process move through to production launch and physical expression in real time after months or years of development. And I miss everyone that was along this ride from our supply chain partners, collaborators, and clients.

Out on the range today, grand mountain ranges replaced machines, and open skies replaced factory walls and ceilings, and the beauty of horses took over from the beauty of product design, and I know I’m exactly where I want and need to be. There are not many places wild and free anymore, where humans and development haven’t consumed the untouched. I want to see these parts of our American West (and anywhere else) remain, for all of our spirits, and the American Mustang and Burro roaming the public lands they belong to. by @m4factory

FACTORY TRANSMISSION COMPLETE. In the fiftieth year of the Factory and my tenth year into the mission, during the cazimi in June, (occurs when a planet is in tight conjunction with the Sun, a position thought to amplify its energy and signify a powerful reset or “rebirth”) and in a Nine Year and Year of the Snake, I completed my soul contract with the Factory and handed over the keys to her next stewards. It took me several months to fully digest the experience and I will publish more about it soon. For now, my time stamp.

Forged in metal and concrete, the Factory was a beautiful container for me of production, protection, and proving. The pulse of machines, the smell of innovation, the rhythm of work, the weight of legacy, the heaviness of patriarchy, the feeling of spirit. Within the Factory’s walls, I walked floors that I remembered from childhood, mesmerized by plastic purging and the physical world of creating, focused on creating the world I wanted to live in, one that valued planet, person and material potential. I learned to lead, to rise, to fall, to speak, to burn, and through the alchemy, I found a deeper understanding of self and left the parts that don’t belong to me anymore on that known Factory floor.

Thank you for holding me.
Thank you for refining me.
Thank you for letting me go.

COTTON CLOUD FACTORY x Swen + Miller. A series that took shape by exploring a desire to see gentler lines and angles for a material that is so soft, with a harsh background. Inspired by mid century modern objects we love by Sottsass, Noguchi, Perriand and others, we began experimenting in the Factory. The invitation to work with novel materials in a more intimate way has been one of my greatest loves of @m4factory; we have been material pioneers.

Notes on material conversation with Gaetano Pesce, Milano Italy, @isaloniofficial
need to know about material of your time. went to chemical companies to see what they were researching. to see material. when was 19. then had ideas. discovered material transparent like glass but elastic. doing this you can make and have ideas that are innovation. invite you to have curiosity toward new materials. we have incredible technology but we must be curious. curiosity is the engine of progress and you work for the progress. you don’t work for conservative expression.

material today is much better from the past.
be curious. our time is not with rigidity, it’s elastic not rigid. the man has a rigid mind, the women has elastic mind for this reason the future is feminine - must use material that is feminine, elastic, more strong, not rigid, more light doesn’t break. @gaetano.pesce
