today i decided to get baptized again. last time i was baptized was in 3rd grade and since then ive definitely messed up. roughly 3 years ago i encountered God for the first time in my room. what’s funny is as i began to write this, the song that was playing when i encountered God started to play. after i met God i definitely wasn’t perfect, but it started this journey with Christ, that i’ve never for one moment regretted. i then quickly received my call to ministry, and that is why yall know me as pastormaddix. i always tried to fill this hole in my heart with all sorts of things, but it never would suffice, the reason is that it was a Jesus-shaped hole. Jesus is the only thing that will ever satisfy. i’ve learned a lot of things over these past three years, but the most important thing that i’ve learned is this, no i am not worthy, no i am not perfect, i shouldn’t be able to even lift my hand towards God, but the reason i can is Jesus, and only Jesus. i’m so so so thankful that when i was at my lowest Jesus swooped in. i’m so thankful that when i wanted to end my life, God showed me His love, that He gave me reasons to keep on going. i’m so thankful that He has given me this joy that i can’t explain, that i try to show others with every breath i take. im so thankful that when i thought i was all alone, He was my closest friend who never left my side, and im so thankful i decided to start talking to Jesus that day. thank you Jesus for the people i’ve met at church, church camps, and conferences. thank you Jesus for surrounding me with all the right people, and blessing me with the best family ever, cause where would i be without them. thank you Jesus for youth group, and the connections i get to make. ultimately, thank you Jesus for saving my life. by @maddix_harrison

Dear basketball, Ever since I was 5 and started playing park and rec, I fell in love with the game. From park and rec to Valley Jr High to Dora High School to Cordova High School, basketball has given the ability to meet some of my best friends and I will cherish every memory and blessing it has given me. The best thing about basketball growing up was getting to share the court with my brother. I have loved every second of it, from every 1v1 outside in the freezing cold and every late night hoop sesh at the life center and every game and practice I got with you in high school. It has been a memory I’ll cherish forever. Now, senior year didn’t go the way I wanted it to. I dealt with lower back issues my whole high school career but the one time it took me away from the game was my very last chance. And it sucks, but the beauty of it is that God has a plan for my life, a far greater plan. Thank you to all my family for supporting me and cheering me on, I love yall. My last advice I want to give to everyone that plays sports, give your life to Jesus. There were times when sports drained the life out of me and I’d be exhausted, but what got me through it was my Lord and savior. Thank you basketball for the best 13 years of my life. #0 Maddog out. by @maddix_harrison

Camp Utopia ‘25 A lot of times when I would go to church camp, I would stick back and watch everyone else. This year was different. I was completely desperate for God. It honestly still amazes me how God will work for those who are desperate for Him. Which He worked in my life, and I know so many others as well. If there’s one thing I want to always continue to think it’s never arrive. Never reach a point to where you think that’s the closest you can get to Jesus, but everyday wake up and say “God, I need you.” So thankful for getting to be in Cabin 26/30. So thankful for the guys I’ve met and bonded with over the years. To the ones who’ve graduated, I’m so thankful for yall for being the an example for me to look up to. I love each and every person who I’ve met at camp. But now let’s go out, and start a wildfire with the flame that has been lit inside of us for Jesus name. by @maddix_harrison
