POSTS STORIES REELS

My favorite girls from the last firing.

Mayco plum on the bottom and Laguna robins egg top and inside. Mayco flux where they meet. Laguna wc611 clay. #mugshotmonday #lagunaclay #mayco #maycoflux #lagunaglaze by @madebykc_ceramics

No filter no fancy camera just right out of the kiln and right onto my phone.

I’m sure some of you are hoping to know these glazes and unfortunately they are not commercial glazes. Most of my posts here are to share helpful information, but some are just to show off some work I’m very proud of. ✨

Ooooh almost Halloween. Would you like to hear a very spooky story?

Once upon a time there was a very cute mug. One day the lady that made her noticed the tithonias outside were wild and beautiful and could be the perfect backdrop for a photo. After a few tries the lady realized she didn’t like her hand in the photo so she grabbed a small table to set the mug on. Then, suddenly the mug began to slide down the table. It slid too fast for the lady to catch it, and suddenly the mug landed on a paver and split right down the middle into two perfect halves.

In all seriousness I will miss this mug. She was cute and my first attempt at a water-etched star as well as my first attempt using @amacobrent deep speckled olive. I don’t play with greens often, but I do love this one and it feels perfect for fall.

Pottery will teach you many lessons, but my most favorite is the art of letting go. I’ll never be able to do an exact replica but I’ll enjoy trying ⭐️ by @madebykc_ceramics

Your morning coffee called. It wants a handmade mug.

Ryan said he was taking some of my mugs to a friend as a gift and I said eeeek hold on just not these two I haven’t taken any pictures of them.

Got em 🩵
He didn’t even choose this pair but it got a fire under me cause I’m a big fan of them

Lucky for me I managed to randomly get pics of these a few days ago because they found a new home today! I almost never remember to.

Had the tiniest bit of Himalayan salt left in the jar so I used these mugs to finish it up. Himalayan salt on white clay is how I like it 👌🏼

1. Mayco Himalayan salt on the bottom
2. Mayco light flux on the top
Slight overlap

Funny whenever I make a trio of nesting plates or bowls the littlest one is always just a touch too big to drop in ;)

Something for me to work on! One reason I never get bored of ceramics. by @madebykc_ceramics

Georgie’s speckled olive - a satin pale green with black freckles. Pictured on both white clay and brown clay. Which do we like best? I think I prefer the white clay

Summer is winding down so I’m going to post these bright blue waves before they feel out of place 🌀 by @madebykc_ceramics

SO close to making the perfect nesting bowls. The smallest one was just a teeny bit too wide to drop in all the way. (See last pic) Maybe I try measuring next time. I continue on my quest of mastery 👌🏼 by @madebykc_ceramics
